April 30, 2002 : POST NUKE

Does anyone know anything about PostNuke, the open source weblog/content management software package?

A buddy here at work just switched over to it, and it looks great. I'm going to play with it this weekend, and maybe do the blogfucker site with it instead of Movable Type. But if anyone has experience with it, I'd love to hear about it.

People have said these things about that :

Their front page doesn't inspire confidence:

"* We are currently working on the site and outages may occur. *"

That's only the website, though. The actual product is completely self-contained, AFAIK. It's got some cool features. Y'know those avatars on 1142, next to the post, that identify the poster? It's got those. It also has modules you can add on to do easy web polls, photo management, user tracking ("there are 5 guests and 3 members online").

Adam speaks the truth. Or php, I'm sure.

Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
