May 16, 2002 : It was okay. Not great. but okay.

People have said these things about that :

In a previous thread I ranted how I hate Star Wars nerds and how I avoid seeing these movies for a few weeks because of them, but I herby retract that whole pile of angry noise, as I just got back from a midnight Nerd Only screening of Episode 2, and their enthusiasm became my enthusiasm.

I am become Virgin.

I won't give anything away. It was alright. Worth seeing. Yoda is cool.

Too.. tired.. to.. make...full sentences...

*Notes a throwing down of the photoshop gauntlet, anticipates forgetting about it when he sobers up, but later realizes that he will see this pic when next he simianizes, and so relaxes, confident that the IntArWEb will remember everything for him, then forgets what he was talking about*

Yeah, so, uhhh...hey.

Longest. Action asterisk sequence. Ever.

Saw a midnight showing too. It was great, not just okay. Sure, if you compare it to other films, it doesn't really measure up, but if you compare it to Star Wars films, it's the second best of the bunch. Do you think that Anakin's horrid acting ability was just a device to make you hate him more?

And, yeah, that little green dude with the big ears kicks some ass.

It's growing on me a bit with passing time.

Rather like that purple stuff between my second and third toes.

Sorry to the naysayers, but I thought it kicked ass - any of the slower/corny parts were either fun or easy to gloss over.

I had such a blast - it helped that I saw it with a huge cadre coworkers from amazon.com (they rented a theater for a 9am showing). Even Bezos was there. I'm seeing it again (in a digital theater) on Saturday.

Call me a nerd if you must, but I was emotionally charged by watching Yoda show us how things are done, Jedi-style. I mean, here's this figure that we know is worthy of respect, because we've been told as much so many times, finally showing that he earned such a position (in this storyline).

Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
