June 20, 2002 : McCartney joins the Monkees?

Nope, the Bonobos.

"We played some music - the male ape and I jammed a little and his sister joined in with us."

"He played keyboards and she played drums. It was wild."

People have said these things about that :

From the article:

Well, I suppose once you’ve played with RINGO STARR a monkey must seem like a step up!

I think I'm so educated and I'm so civilized cos I'm a strict vegetarian
But with the over-population and inflation and starvation and the crazy politicians
I don't feel safe in this world no more
I don't want to die in a nuclear war
I want to sail away to a distant shore and make like an ape man

That was a good Kinks song.

"Monkey" - words & music by: Adam F. Duritz

All dressed up
No place to go
Hey monkey, when you gonna show your face around me?
I know all the wrongs and rights
And I just want a little light to fall on me

Hey monkey, where you been?
This lonely spiral I've been in
Hey monkey, when can we begin?
Hey monkey, where you been?

We'll I'm all messed up
That's nothing new
Hey monkey, when you open up your blue eyes,
I don't know if I'm wide awake or dreaming
But all I ever need is everything

Hey monkey, where you been?
This lonely spiral I've been in
Hey monkey, when can we begin?
Hey monkey, where you been?

Just get the world off your shoulders
and close your pretty blue eyes
Hey monkey, what's life without an occasional surprise?

Got nowhere but home to go
Got Ben Folds on my radio right now
I'm in trouble for the things I need
Hey monkey don't you want to be needed too?

Hey monkey, where you been?
This lonely spiral I've been in
Hey monkey, when can we begin?
Hey monkey, where you been? What can I say, Counting Crows are a guilty pleasure.

I've got to confess to being a big fan, too, ebk. I think it's because Duritz is the only guy I've ever seen who's more depressed than me. :-)

OK. I'll admit I did own the Crows album with Mr Jones on it, but I did sell it.

That said, I will admit to owning The Wallflowers first album and liking it. I think Duritz is backup on one of the songs.

Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
