Nu, as 9622's portrait gallery develops I seem to be attributing ethnic identities to most of our monkeys. Some look Irish (the orangutans); others look African; Moorish; Gallic; Japanese...you name it, we've got one. Or is it only me that's caught this anthropomorphic bug?
Posted by at July 25, 2002 12:42 AMi think that monkey is hitting on me. what do i say? i'm so nervous.
Posted by: eyeballkid on July 25, 2002 03:26 AMor do i say anything at all? maybe i just scoop up a handful of monkey love and throw?
Posted by: eyeballkid on July 25, 2002 03:54 AMGah! The image showed up on preview, I swear. I deleted, but can't rebuild...
Posted by: adampsyche on July 25, 2002 09:11 AMAh, good. Posting a comment here rebuilt the front page. The image that I posted can be seen here.
Posted by: adampsyche on July 25, 2002 09:13 AMThis one is good too. Strangely enough, the site is called monkeypenis.com.
Posted by: adampsyche on July 25, 2002 09:15 AMhmm. adam, your first image was just an ad telling me to "find someone to wake up with for the rest of your life: yahoo personals"
i guess that could have something to do with monkeys.

Mein damen und herren, mesdames et messeiurs, ladies...and gentlemen. Is it a crime to fall in love? Can we ever tell where the heart truly leads us? All we are asking is eine bisschen Verstandnis-- a little understanding. Why can't the world leben und leben lassen...live and let live?
Miguel, a friend of mine has that picture at the top hanging on a wall of her house. Visiting 9622 then, I am overcome with feelings of guilt for not having phoned her in some time.
Thanks a lot.

a fierce storm begins to brew
a monkey is touched.
I was posting on 9622, the other one and my pod buddies said this was me. Thomcat Spike, as a smurf monky
Posted by: thomcatspike on July 25, 2002 07:59 PMCan you possibly explain what "pod buddies" are, my inscrutable friend?
Posted by: kafkaesque on July 26, 2002 01:08 AM*screeches and points at Kafka, like Donald Sutherland at the end of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"*
Yes, I know I've made that joke before, but it still amuses me.
pod buddies= employees of a company that we all work for and are near me or look over my sholder.
pod= a place in a cubical that I'm stuck in while doing this right now.
buddies= "those" that I don't mind if they make fun of me, or drink beer.
Note: I do have a window, so maybe it is more like the invasion of the body snatchers.
damn. i'm disappointed that you have an explanation, somehow.
i was hoping that someone, somewhere, had real pod buddies. i want a pod buddy.
Posted by: pikachu lolita on July 26, 2002 04:54 PMSenator Resin, actually my wife and I do that Sutherland scream whenever the other starts either making no sense or speaking in hushed tones of a conspiracy.
Which is pretty frequently.
Marsupial.
Posted by: kafkaesque on July 26, 2002 05:00 PMYou've no idea what perverse level of amusement that fact brings me.
Posted by: dong_resin on July 26, 2002 05:04 PMpikachu, saw your name on Meta thread today, forgot who, yet they say your name in public with "lolita", too. Any way, yea sorry to spoil the fun. I'm still waiting to have my personal pod, either a butt load of kids, or an orgy and I'm the only guy................either way I'll be a real pea in a pod.......
do monkeys eat peas?
Well they don't call them peanuts for nothing, Thom!
Actually when, late in life, I found peanuts weren't really nuts but just a kind of pea, it put me off them for a few days.
Ah, beer nuts. They don't exist either.
Posted by: Miguel on July 27, 2002 01:28 AMSo all beer is female?
Must be why it makes guys act so stupid.
A note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
