Monkey Cliff Diving!
koko! you're back! where the hell have you been? and what's that on your face?
Posted by: witchstone on August 15, 2002 12:46 PMOMG! Whatever you do--don't kill the monkeys.
"The horror. The horror."
Posted by: ColdChef on August 15, 2002 12:52 PMWhy that's an all-knowing smile plastered on my face. No, wait. It's just some barbecue sauce from last night.
Sorry for the absence. I've been in 9622-lurk mode for a long time - too busy doing other stuff (yes real-world stuff comes before monkeys sometimes - I know, I've got to get my priorities straight).
Posted by: kokogiak on August 15, 2002 12:54 PMOh, and I have trouble with wind too, so I empathize with Hat Monkey.
Posted by: kokogiak on August 15, 2002 12:55 PMI totally killed all the monkeys on my very first try.
This game is easy.
Posted by: dong resin on August 15, 2002 12:56 PMHa! I like the way the bodies of the monkeys get sloshed around with each passing wave.
Posted by: adampsyche on August 15, 2002 01:05 PMSpeaking of dead monkeys, one of the caualties of the flooding in Europe yesterday was Ponk, a seven year-old gorilla that drowned in his cage at Prague Zoo. Ponk rip.
Posted by: liam on August 15, 2002 01:11 PMThat really was awful. I couldn't understand why they had to put the hippo down....
Reminded me of Murakami's "Wind-Up Bird Chronicle".
Posted by: kafkaesque on August 15, 2002 01:22 PMThat game is gross. My daughter and I really enjoyed it.
Posted by: b****fire on August 15, 2002 02:22 PMJeezus. When I throw them over the cliff, I actually wince. Their sweet little crushed monkey bodies and that sickening crunch--it's enough to put me off my lunch.
But I can't stop playing....

Don't know about the game, but Murakami is the shit. I think my favorite is still Hard-boiled Wonderland, it speaks to that Italo Calvino kinda-science fiction lover in me. Wind-Up Bird is the coup de grace though, it really wraps up his major themes. Good call kaf.
Posted by: anathema on August 15, 2002 03:08 PMAgreed on Hard-Boiled Wonderland. First one I read and still my fave. I have his new story collection "After the Earthquake" on preorder.
Posted by: kafkaesque on August 15, 2002 03:09 PMlooking at this no wonder the bottom monkey has trouble with his wife, she can't make him smile after sex.............
Posted by: thomcatspike on August 15, 2002 03:21 PMI started with the WUBChronicles, and it remains my favorite. I'm reading A Wild Sheep Chase right now, which is a lot of fun, if less rich.
Posted by: liam on August 15, 2002 03:27 PMI'm with dong. This game is way easy. OOOOh! Bloody monkey!
Posted by: eyeballkid on August 15, 2002 03:55 PMwhat if this game was like in wargames, and we were really throwing monkeys to their deaths? what if we had accidentally "hacked" into the "mainframe" that controls "monkeys hurling themselves off cliffs"?
wouldn't be so funny then, would it?
Posted by: pikachu lolita on August 15, 2002 04:14 PMYea, I think the bottom monkey would agree, Strip Twister, then he could grin.........
Or, maybe it was his wife that went *splat*....the cliff diverette(think that's womanish).
What do you have to take off for a double word score?

nipple clamps, ouch....
my fingers are worse than a tornado, they're titty twisters....well I was thinking of nipple pinchers is what I would rather take off, sorry monkeys *splat*
P-lo, one day soon the world is going to start paying you back for all the sunshine and stars you scatter about whenever you move and I'll be able to see you straight across the big midnight ocean! :)
Posted by: Miguel on August 15, 2002 09:34 PMokay, not fair... I go out for the day, and come back to find everyone killing monkeys and wearing nipple clamps?!
Why do I always miss the fun? (*pouts*)
Posted by: scribblative on August 15, 2002 10:25 PMA note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
