My proposal: we all legally change our names to one of these famous monkeys. I call Zakhar.
Posted by anathema at August 15, 2002 09:54 PMAll right, but "Crap Davis" isn't a whole lot different.
Posted by: Crash on August 15, 2002 09:57 PMHA! On our employee profile web page at work, we have a spot for a photo. I've had Zakhar's there for ages.

This is a little disturbing. has this site been linked to before?
Posted by: anathema on August 15, 2002 10:03 PMI'm so Enos, for the airport music and the indigestion relief, it upsets me.
Posted by: Miguel on August 15, 2002 10:36 PMI call dibs on ANDi. I wanna be named after a glow-in-the-dark monkey.
Well, if I could just glow in the dark by myself, that would be nice.
Posted by: katieinshoes on August 15, 2002 10:48 PMWashoe talkin' 'bout willis?
I've always been partial to the name Oliver.
Posted by: Marquis on August 15, 2002 10:54 PMOLIVER? that's the name of the fat kid that eats paste!
(10 points to the person who names the movie that's from)
Leaving Nim Chimpsky for those who are more qualified, and Bubbles for those who are braver, I'm going outside the proferred list and using "Ponk", in honour of the gorilla that died yesterday in the flooding at Prague Zoo. And 'cos I like the name Ponk.

First there was Elvis the Pelvis, prepare for Enos the ....
Wait a minute.
Posted by: jonmc on August 16, 2002 02:08 AMtj - I believe you are referring to "The Sure Thing" - an early Cusack classic from his "80's Teen Romance and Angst" period (ah, memories...)
Posted by: scribblative on August 16, 2002 02:38 AMI am *so* Matata.
Bonobos use sex in a variety of contexts, including food sharing.
I think I'd go for "Matata" which they say means "trouble" in Swahili, except then my name would be half the title of a song in Disney's jungle version of Hamlet.
Posted by: MarsCrash on August 17, 2002 12:52 PMA note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
