September 12, 2002 : Up To Simian Heaven She Goes.

First Johnny, now this.

NEW YORK--Kim Hunter, the versatile actress who won a supporting Oscar in 1951 as the long-suffering Stella in ''A Streetcar Named Desire'' and appeared in three ''Planet of the Apes'' movies, died Wednesday. She was 79.

People have said these things about that :

What was that? I was wrong!
It was Earth all along!
Oh you've finally made a monkey
(yes we've finally made a monkey)
Oh you've finally made a monkey
out of meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Posted by: Ufez Jones on September 12, 2002 01:16 PM

I have to say that "Escape From The Planet Of The Apes" tortures me. I can't watch it because of the ending scene with the little monkey baby, and yet I can't help watching Planet of the Apes movies.

Aaaaugh!

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:25 PM

I hated the new one. And I still bought it on DVD. What a sucker.

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 01:26 PM

Walrus, no!

Not "The Movie Which Maketh Us To Hate Tim Burton"?!

How could you?

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:28 PM

I had a moment of weakness.

I've done confession now, can I just have my Hail Marys and go?

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 01:36 PM

No! Cardinal Fang, fetch the soft cushions!

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:45 PM

And the comfy chair!

Posted by: witchstone on September 12, 2002 01:45 PM

Not the comfy chair!?

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:46 PM

Look, I only came here to post comments on a website ... I didn't expect some kind of Spanish Inquisition ...

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 01:48 PM

Nobody expects the --

Oh damn.

I'll come in again.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:49 PM

You, Mr. Walrus, are hereby accused of the following crime:

That you did willfully and with full knowledge of the blasphemy contained therein, purchase a DVD copy of Planet Of The Apes

and not visiting 9622 enough

TWO! Two Crimes!

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 01:57 PM

I plead inanity.

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 02:00 PM

your two crimes are this:

willful purchase of the heretical film "planet of the apes"
not visiting 9622 enough
and your fanatical devotion to rabbits--

amongst your crimes are such diverse elements as:

Stay away from my wabbits. I'm going to wuv them all. And call them George.

Ah, but do I weigh as much as a duck?

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 02:07 PM

Now, would that be a Muscovy or an Orpington duck?

Posted by: Ufez Jones on September 12, 2002 02:19 PM

It's vurry nice!

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 02:24 PM

My favorite non human character of all time will be missed, she share a deathe with Peter Tosh.
One of my favorite series, Planet of the Apes.
Though Tim Burtons was probably more like the book. The original I feel was great as Hollywood was limited to what they could do, yet having Burt Lancaster not talking at first was awsome.
Yet I would have never known if they had not done a remake, to really appreciat the original.
Does anyone remember the tv series ?(not the cartoon, that was later).
Side note the action figure for Marky Mark(there more stories there)in Planet of the Apes looks like me in the face, per my friends, yet the bod well sorry or I would be a star in my heaven.

Posted by: thomcatspike on September 12, 2002 02:25 PM

A Ruddy duck (unladen).

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 02:27 PM

Burt Lancaster?

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 02:28 PM

Maybe Burt Lancaster and Charlton Heston could carry a cocoanut between them if it was tied with a string.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 02:32 PM

Maybe Burt Lancaster and Charlton Heston could carry a cocoanut between them if it was tied with a string.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 02:33 PM

Note that (2 · Burt Lancaster) + (2 · Charlton Heston) cancels out to one Raymond Burr.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 02:34 PM

conversely, maybe Burt Lancaster and Charlton Heston could shoot two swallows carrying a coconut between them if it was tied by a string.

Posted by: Ufez Jones on September 12, 2002 02:35 PM

And Warren Zevon has terminal cancer.
Life'll kill ya.

Posted by: tizzie on September 12, 2002 02:36 PM

Posted by: Ufez Jones on September 12, 2002 02:36 PM

Burt and Charles I get confuse from their early movies, but yea the NRA man, Heston, you know old folks all look a like.

Posted by: thomcatspike on September 12, 2002 02:41 PM

And just exactly what is WRONG with fanatical devotion to rabbits??

(uh, and can someone explain why Walrus dude is even accused of it?)

Posted by: b****fire on September 12, 2002 02:46 PM

Well, rabbits don't fling poo. B***ies, on the other hand...

Posted by: romakimmy on September 12, 2002 02:50 PM

Hello George!

Posted by: walrus on September 12, 2002 02:52 PM

Just what is the wind velocity of an ape?

Posted by: KevinSkomsvold on September 12, 2002 03:10 PM

Dammit! I call double post on me.

Posted by: KevinSkomsvold on September 12, 2002 03:11 PM

Don't let me get going on Raymond Burr again.

Posted by: anathema on September 12, 2002 03:14 PM

Depends what it's been eating.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 03:14 PM

They had Raymonds on A&E, and tlked of him being successful with the same type of charcter twice, so double post he did. Even came back w/ Perry Mason movie after Iron Side.

Posted by: thomcatspike on September 12, 2002 03:38 PM

This monkey's gone to heaven

Posted by: Ufez Jones on September 12, 2002 04:31 PM

Posted by: anathema on September 12, 2002 06:25 PM

Posted by: thomcatspike on September 12, 2002 06:41 PM

I made do with Tiger Shrimp, but it just wasn't the same. They don't look half as good in red vests.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 12, 2002 06:54 PM

Bunny love, I just saw your note. Ay, what can I say I'm a man, and speaking for myself we suck at english, spelling and basicly were lazy so you got me, tie me up in knots.......and leave me to sit a spell so not to miss........pell.

Posted by: Miguel on September 12, 2002 10:23 PM

I had a monkey blackout once. He woke up next to me in a Super 8 on a water bed strewn with empty gin bottles. You can fill in the rest...

Posted by: KevinSkomsvold on September 12, 2002 11:05 PM

Sounds like the monkey already beat us to that....

Posted by: MarsCrash on September 12, 2002 11:08 PM

And now, a message from Below:

Hell with that office manager! Fire up that browser and cruise willy-nilly Adam, I command you!

Posted by: The Devil On Adam's Shoulder on September 12, 2002 11:09 PM

Adam, holler if you need prayer.

"And Kafkaesque spake, saying, "First shalt thou grimace in distaste at ill-advised DVD purchases. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, flingest thou great wodges poo towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

Dang, Adam, I was just making a JOKE.

I'm so sorry...good thing you are in school, but are you gonna be okay?

Posted by: b****fire on September 13, 2002 10:51 AM

Condolences, Adam.
As Kim Hunter's personal assistant, I can empathize.

Posted by: dong resin on September 13, 2002 10:54 AM

I got a sweet gig lined up with Warren Zevon though, so things are looking up.

*assumes Diana Ross voice*

I will survive!

Posted by: adampsyche on September 13, 2002 10:57 AM

Tim Burton did Pee Wee's first movie, Beetlejuice, Edward scissorhands, and fuck all else, as far as I'm concerned.
It's three hit movies more than I've done, yet I still feel superior to him.
I can't explain why.

Posted by: dong resin on September 13, 2002 11:00 AM

Nightmare Before Christmas!

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 13, 2002 11:27 AM

er.. not to distract from adam's tragedy.
I just felt the need to weigh in on the important Tim Burton issue.

Nighmare is overrated.
c'mon.

Posted by: dong resin on September 13, 2002 11:28 AM

Whats a DVD? will play planet of the apes for tribute tonight in the ceaser home. (why do we apes fight so?) i feel homey here but I do have a reqeust if someone can help out. I tried to use the mail thingie to sign up and it dont work for me. I will try and monkey around but could the admin E mail me so i can reply back with my membership. A job candle lit for adampysche ("under employed meself at the moment)

Posted by: clavdivs on September 13, 2002 11:29 AM

hey, no sweat.

this really isn't a tragedy. I could look at it like that, but when one door closes, another opens. so cheesy, so true. i was fucking miserable there anyhow, but know better than to talk about it on my blog (though I did weigh in here occasionally).

remember, if we stop being silly monkeys here...well, someone has already won, i just can't figure out who.

Posted by: adampsyche on September 13, 2002 11:34 AM

I thought it was Gloria Gaynor.

*excusing Adam as she knows he missed the disco era*

Posted by: b****fire on September 13, 2002 11:35 AM

I don't think it's overrated at all.

I just dig it.

I guess that's because I have all the Burger King watches, and am hoping they will get more valuable.

Clav, I think your email problem is your hotmail account.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 13, 2002 11:36 AM

In all fairness, I only saw Nightmare once, but I remember being really underwhelmed.

You're long overdue for an appearance here, mighty clavdis.

Posted by: dong resin on September 13, 2002 11:51 AM

But it's so cuuuuuuuute.

Posted by: kafkaesque on September 13, 2002 12:07 PM

i have no doubt K. my patron is busy at moment and figured an email from admin would be easier for MEMEMEME. i can just reply.

Posted by: clavdivs on September 13, 2002 12:10 PM

I have only seen have of Nightmare and am waiting with baited breath to see the second half. This is when having a TV would come in handy.

Posted by: witchstone on September 13, 2002 12:29 PM

Posted by: brittney on September 13, 2002 12:38 PM
