November 07, 2002 : The chosen one.

Matt side blogged the personalized Metafilter baseball tees which sell for $10 on the blue pages. Our Portuguese Man of Monkey Love's name and number are used as a model in the example photos. Who wouldn't want their MeFi handle and user number stenciled on their back? Dong_resin? Fishfucker?

All I know is: Miguel. A cigar. This t-shirt.

Perfect.

People have said these things about that :

*lights up, cradle-stretches fingers behind neck, sits well back into overstuffed sofa, considers*

Yeah, why don't we have a 9622 t-shirt? Or perhaps a t-shirt is too sporty for the likes of us. Perhaps a velveteen lounge suit, done up in tasteful purple, with poo-brown collars and cuffs? Or a chimpy, simple white tutu in the Bishop Desmond style.

I think a cool move would be to buy a fishfucker jersey and then wear it down at the aquarium.

Posted by: jonmc on November 7, 2002 08:51 AM

Yikes!

Posted by: anathema on November 7, 2002 09:17 AM

Here's a very wearable idea in the fishfucking vein (safe for work).

Posted by: Miguel on November 7, 2002 12:10 PM

ah. time to get into the vendor business.

now all i need is a patent.

Posted by: fishfucker on November 7, 2002 12:48 PM

mine is speeding its way toward me.

i have no idea when i'm going to wear it, but hoo-ray.

Posted by: fishfucker on November 7, 2002 07:18 PM

I had an idea, but I don't know if it would work. It would be cool to order one with the number 9622 on the back, but I'm not sure if that's somebody's user number.

Posted by: tizzie on November 7, 2002 07:47 PM

Hey, he made one for me, too! (imagine that!)

ebk, FF: what color are you guys getting? Mrs. Commish always prefers black, but I like the blue myself - just want 'em to match in case we run into each other at a party sometime!

Posted by: YHBCommish on November 7, 2002 07:53 PM

The 9622 shirt would come with the name "babypussy". I don't know if that'll be a problem?

Posted by: liam on November 7, 2002 07:55 PM

And Tizzie, I don't think you really want this shirt.

Posted by: YHBCommish on November 7, 2002 07:55 PM

Jinx!

Posted by: yhbc on November 7, 2002 07:55 PM

Oh. Oh dear.

Posted by: tizzie on November 7, 2002 07:57 PM

ebf, FF what color are you guys getting?

Commish, you have to ask? Blue, of course, just like the #069.

And I just recieved an email from cafe press, mine is in the mail and should arrive by June.

Posted by: eyeballkid on November 7, 2002 08:01 PM

blizz-zue.

it's very rare, or so i hear.

Posted by: fishfucker on November 7, 2002 08:39 PM

June?

Ahh, fuggit. Blue it is.

Posted by: yhbc on November 7, 2002 10:11 PM

Keep forgettin' to change my name. This secret identity stuff is hard.

Posted by: YHBCommish on November 7, 2002 10:12 PM

Should we order one for starvosthewonderchicken?

Posted by: yhbc on November 7, 2002 10:23 PM

Okay, that's the last time, I swear.

Posted by: YHBCommish on November 7, 2002 10:25 PM

Traitors' shirts are also verboten. In fact, no post, no comment.

P.S. 9139 is the coolest number so far. So cool, the Mayor of Venice named a canal after him.

Posted by: Miguel on November 7, 2002 10:26 PM

Venice, Italy, that is: the Matt Canale; not to be confused with the lesser Matteo.

Posted by: Miguel on November 7, 2002 10:28 PM

How about ordering one for Hidalgo, too?

Posted by: yhbc on November 7, 2002 10:44 PM

I want mine to say Steven Den Beste - 522.

Posted by: brittney on November 7, 2002 10:55 PM

That one comes with epaulettes.

Posted by: liam on November 7, 2002 11:12 PM

Hmm ... I'd like one that says "KAYCEE" with that whodunnit thread number on it.

Posted by: whatnot on November 8, 2002 01:18 AM

I think the baseball shirts are a hoot, but I'm unlikely to buy a MeFi one, as I don't really visit the blue that much anymore. I still pop in, but it's become a little too... just too... it's not really the place it used to be. Recently, I find myself wanting to practice my Dr. Kevorkian skills on people, and that's never nice. ;)

However, I'd consider 9622 swag, once I'm back down to a human size again. :)

Ass, is what that kicks! Major floppy spotty cheeseburger-fed Republican ass!

(Import rye whiskey feeds my enthusiasm I admit, but I still must bow in respect to the Riff Lord that tay-hota is.

*bows*)

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on November 8, 2002 07:28 AM

oh yeah, those are base cost (no mark up) by the way.

Cool thermos. Now if the image could be etched onto a Nissan Stainless travel thermos. I hate to be the jerk (actually that's not true) but I was really disappointed w/ the cafepress t-shirt I purchased a month ago. They are not silkscreened (and it was not even customized. I can see how it would be difficult w/ individual users shirts) they are basically iron-ons. Not worth it for the price. My suggestion is for us to decide on a design and then we all pitch in and get some printed. They wouldn't be all personal and shit but I'm sure we could come up with something good.

Mix going out early next week. Sorry mixees.

Posted by: anathema on November 8, 2002 08:17 AM

For pure "huh?!?" value, I don't think you could beat walking down the street with stavrosthewonderchicken on your back. Or even spelled out on the back of your shirt.

I am in love with that 9622 travel mug. In love!

Posted by: tizzie on November 8, 2002 08:21 AM

and.... what anathema said.

Posted by: tizzie on November 8, 2002 08:23 AM

I feel sorry for anyone who orders a bunnyfire shirt. That one might as well have a bull's-eye printed on the back.

Posted by: b****fire on November 8, 2002 10:00 AM

9622 is not an option, but 16251 has possibilities

(BTW, yes my CDs are late - going out by Tuesday at the latest - the good news is that I will be sending 2 disks to make up for my tardiness.)

Posted by: krimur on November 8, 2002 12:09 PM

OK, whoever did the Thunderslut logo, email me. That needs to be on the thing from Cafepress.

Posted by: tj on November 8, 2002 02:58 PM

er, I meant thong. or did I?
