As the French say, "Ah, ca c'est supercool!"
Posted by witchstone at November 07, 2002 12:17 PMOw! My brain!
I'm sure my co-workers enjoyed watching me roll back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, at the appropriate ones. Thanks for ensuring my spot in office infamy, witchy.
Twas a fun link though.
Posted by: Ufez Jones on November 7, 2002 01:14 PMUrp! They made me seasick.
That is one of the reasons I can't play video games. The other one is that I'm hopelessly uncoordinated and have the attention span of a gnat.
Posted by: tizzie on November 7, 2002 01:35 PMI pretty much quit video games after Space Invaders, except for a brief stint with the Super Mario Brothers. Once video games got all 3-D on my ass, I was out of there.
Posted by: witchstone on November 7, 2002 01:52 PMStrangely, if you are on acid when you look at those, they all look like chickens.
Posted by: liam on November 7, 2002 02:23 PMTry playing Super Mario 3, World 6 (original), for an extended period. That blue and white background will eat your mind.
Posted by: j.edwards on November 7, 2002 02:36 PMfar out, witchstone.
Video games, tell the truth witchstone, mom caught on to you taking all the quarters around the house, and gave you these 3d images in substitution.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on November 7, 2002 03:33 PMhey, if you can't play it on Atari 800, then I want nothing to do with it.
That blue and white background will eat your mind
I think I've met a few people who have played this game too much.
Posted by: witchstone on November 7, 2002 03:37 PMJ. Edwards? The senator / presidential hopeful or the guy who talks to the dead (or the MeFite)?
The best of those illusions is "The Autumn Color Swap". It is my new desk top and, had I seen it before, would have been my cd swap cover.
Hey, Miguel! Don't see you much anymores.
Actually, eyeball, I'm all three. We are legion.
Posted by: j.edwards on November 7, 2002 10:00 PMShut up about John Edwards. He could very well be the guy who nominates my boy for the academy...(the politico, not the necromancer.)
As for the main point of this thread, dang, I didn't really NEED a flashback just now...just sayin'.
Posted by: b****fire on November 7, 2002 10:29 PMWhoo Hoo! Thanks Witchy! That's the closest I've been able to come to drugs in 9 months... ;)
Posted by: dejah420 on November 8, 2002 03:12 AMdejah, aren't you about to pop? Best of luck, though. I won't tell you about our delivery on September 7, other than that it involved general anesthetic and a ruptured uterus. And that was just me -- you should have seen my wife! *rimshot*
Posted by: pardon me on November 8, 2002 09:21 AMdejah, aren't you about to pop? Best of luck, though. I won't tell you about our delivery on September 7, other than that it involved general anesthetic and a ruptured uterus. And that was just me -- you should have seen my wife! *rimshot*
Posted by: pardon me on November 8, 2002 09:21 AMdejah's been pregnant for fourteen months now. i think it's time she saw a doctor.
Posted by: jpoulos on November 8, 2002 09:31 AMSeriously. What's she incubating in there?
Hey, remember in "V" when the woman who had had sex with one of the aliens gave birth to the twins and one was an alien with a normal tongue and one was a human with an alien tongue and you thought the alien baby would live, but it died and then the human one grew up really fast and she had that forked tongue?
Maybe it's just me who remembers that.
Posted by: witchstone on November 8, 2002 09:43 AMI just think he/she's just in no real hurry to come out. That's what happens when 4:20 is mom's favorite time of day. Although s/he's probably got the munchies somethin' fierce. ;)
Posted by: pardon me on November 8, 2002 09:57 AMOnce again 9622 scoops the blue. Good job, witchstone.
Posted by: pardon me on November 8, 2002 10:10 AMJ.Edwards - are you posting on your new Next cube? Ooh, that makes me all tingly, it does!
*furiously applying talcum powder to deep green face*
Posted by: Miguel on November 8, 2002 10:13 AMand then, like, i saw god man.
oldie but goody i posted to the blue last april.
Posted by: quonsar on November 8, 2002 10:31 AMHey, b****fire, I like Sen. John Edwards. There was no criticism there.
Posted by: eyeballkid on November 8, 2002 03:26 PMHeh. You want optical illusions? Try and find your monkey friend on the front page of Saturday's Diário de Notícias. Yup, it's my brand new weekly column!

So, does this mean that things are looking up for our smoking jacket-wearing, cocktail swillin' sexpert-in-residence? 'Cause there were some rather shaky days not so long ago...I would love to hear that things were on the ascent. Maybe I would have figured it out if those Portuguese learning tapes were having any effect on me. But no, I'm just as plumb ignerrant as before in the language of Miguel-love.

Haven't gotten the NeXT up and running just yet -- well, it's up, and it's running, it's just not fully operational as a computer.
But soon.
Posted by: j.edwards on November 8, 2002 08:44 PMMiguel! Congratulations! I just looked at their homepage, and though you are not yet listed as a columnist, the ones that are make quite prestigious company. We mere monkeys are humbled.
Posted by: tizzie on November 8, 2002 08:51 PMRe: Popping...
Yep, I'm almost 37 weeks, theoretically am due on Dec 3. Keyword there, theoretically. :) Lemme tell ya, I'm so tired of being pregnant, I could cry. Oh, wait...I have. ;)
Wow, pardon me, how's your wife doing now? And the baby?
Posted by: dejah420 on November 8, 2002 08:59 PMStrangely, if you are on acid when you look at those, they all look like chickens.
That's weird. I was going to make a comment about taking acid and looking at them and something else that I've forgotten now, and you know, I'm a (wonder) chicken and everything.
Also : Hi Jed!
Also also : Congratulations, Miguel! Have you toppled the evil Clix empire yet?
Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on November 8, 2002 09:17 PMYep, I'm almost 37 weeks, theoretically am due on Dec 3.
Freaky! Dec 3 is my birthday. The li'l bugger will either be blessed or cursed depending on how you look at it.
Posted by: jonmc on November 8, 2002 11:40 PMReadymade: yep! You win the big prize (by e-mail, of course, under plain cover).
Yup, things are looking up, sort of, and the evil Clix empire is being hounded and pounded with lawsuits.
Posted by: Miguel on November 9, 2002 11:00 AMWow, pardon me, how's your wife doing now? And the baby?
They're both doing fine, thanks for asking. And I don't mean to scare you at all -- emergency c-sections just seem to be our thing. This time (second) my wife's doctor talked us into trying for a vaginal birth, and said she had never had anyone's uterus rupture. Well, now she has.
The point is that however it happens the end result is worth it.
Too much information for everybody? OK, [/birth talk]
Yep, I'm almost 37 weeks, theoretically am due on Dec 3. Keyword there, theoretically. :)
i think you should hold out until the 6th. i've always liked being born on that day. 'course, any way you work it, the kid's going to complain that you planned the whole thing to screw him/her out of christmas presents (you did, didn't you?)
Posted by: fishfucker on November 10, 2002 04:10 PMNah, go for December 2nd. My birthday, true-but also far enough away from Christmas that you still get presents for both. And the stores are filled with great stuff that time of year. ;-)
Posted by: b****fire on November 10, 2002 06:49 PMObviously I'm bored out of my mind and am now dipping into the treasured archives in order to quench my thirst for commenting.
And also, thought this optical illusion might drive you a little crazy. 'Tis for real.
Posted by: witchstone on December 11, 2002 12:08 PMplus, look at this:

We missed fishfucker's birthday. What a bummer!

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
