This woman may have the wrong idea and the wrong end of the stick but the spirit's right. In the immortal words of our friend Tizzie:
Don't forget, the monkey birthday three-fer started yesterday. Yesterday was amberglow's birthday, today is b****fire's and tomorrow is jonmc's.
*bakes a banana cake*
*adds three candles*
*sings delightfully off-key*
Happy birthday, Bunnyfire! Happy post-birthday, Amberglow! And happy pre-birthday, Jonmc!
Posted by at December 02, 2002 05:42 AMAlright, this is going to have to cover all of the monkey stroking. Happy Birthday to the three of you. It would be an interesting party.
Posted by: anathema on December 2, 2002 07:44 AMYay! Thanks, Miguel, for hoping me with an 'official' post! And many happy birthday wishes to our three celebrating monkeys: amberglow, bunnyfire, and jonmc.
You young 'uns have fun now, y'hear?
Posted by: tizzie on December 2, 2002 08:08 AMHappy happy to b****fire!!!! yay you!
(but don't drink as much as i did last night....oh, and cake served in a bar always tastes better somehow...)
and thanks to everyone for helping make it a fun day yesterday!
Posted by: amberglow on December 2, 2002 08:40 AMHappy Burfday, fubbynire!!
I share my birthday with this esteemed gentleman...
so sing with me:
<iron man>
I'll be
thirty-two
I'm an old fart and so are you
monkeys all over the place
shoving pocky in their face...
</iron man>
nope, that's the best I could do..must be slippin'
She's painting huge books
And glues them together
They saw a big raven
It glided down the sky
She touched it
Ohh...
Today is a birthday
They're smoking cigars
Some sugarcubes-y goodness...
Hey, I saw "The Osbournes" for the first time last week (the folks have Direct Tv) and I must admit it cracked me up...
As for me, I sit groggily in front of the computer with a YooHoo chocolate drink at my right elbow...life is good. Or as good as it can be to be a woman and wake up to the knowledge of being 44. Heck, when my mom was that age, she was at my wedding!
(Pardon me while I feel old.)
Now that I got that over with, thanks for all the good wishes (and I am sure our other two monkeys would agree!)
Posted by: b****fire on December 2, 2002 09:40 AMYes, best to you all. Birthday it up, funky brethren.
Posted by: kafkavox on December 2, 2002 11:35 AMSomebody at another site I frequent slipped up and called me "monkey"-then selfcorrected to the "correct" term of bunny. (no, not Big Blue!)
Perhaps I should give a big shout out to Erica?
Posted by: b****fire on December 2, 2002 12:09 PMHappy, happy, happy.
I hope the Birthday Fairy brings you all many goodies.
Posted by: aine42 on December 2, 2002 12:27 PMChase that YooHoo with a Moxie and you'll be all set.
I still don't know your new MeFiname, bunny.
Happy Birthday All, Jonmc, Amberglow & Bunnyfire
I still don't know your new MeFiname, bunny.
I think I might...
okay...free monkey mix for the first person to identify the person in the background picture (reord or book?) of the monkey dance party picture. Um did that make any sense at all?
Posted by: anathema on December 2, 2002 01:06 PM(Pardon me while I feel old.)
Hey, don't bring me into this.
Happy birthday to the three of you. I always sensed that bunny and jonmc had similar astrological profiles.
Posted by: pardon me on December 2, 2002 01:24 PMIt's my birthday eve and Lisa has to work late tonight, so I have time to kill.
I may treat myself to a gorgonzola crepe or something.
Posted by: jonmc on December 2, 2002 01:56 PMAnathema, it looks like the guy from WKRP in Cincinnati. Gary what's-his-name. Either that or Karen Carpenter.
Posted by: tizzie on December 2, 2002 01:57 PMThe record, Good Evening, Crenshaw, Marshall????
Posted by: Thomcatspike on December 2, 2002 02:08 PMJon, honey, as you pass these birthday milestones, remember that the older your tummy gets, the less abuse it wants to take. So have the gorgonzola crepe, but not at the same meal with the pickled onions and the deep-fried Twinkie.
Just a little birthday word-to-the-wise.
Posted by: tizzie on December 2, 2002 02:10 PMDudley Moore, innit? That's Good Evening, the book methinks.

Now, let's pat the bunny, my furry friends.
Posted by: brittney on December 2, 2002 03:19 PMWell, this depends on if the fucking cunt is a Brit or a Yank. A Yank would give liam the finger, a Brit would give him two.
Posted by: witchstone on December 2, 2002 03:20 PMMy apologies for any insult given. 'Twas but a Dudley Moore reference.
Happy Birthday, B****fire.

I got an idea. Have a happy birthday.
Love, me.
Posted by: jpoulos on December 2, 2002 04:11 PMIn honor of Bfire's bday, we're holding down young men and forcing them to have this emblazoned somewhere on their bodies. Thus does the cult begin...

The first rule of the bfire cult: Do not talk about the bfire cult. Some of us "young men" already have those emblazoned "somewhere on our bodies" (ifyaknowwhatimean).
aside: hey, dejah, will you squeeze that thing out, already? it's a baby, not a loaf of bread, for cryin' out loud
Posted by: pardon me on December 2, 2002 04:38 PMsee, there's two of us right there. isn't that enough for a cult?
Posted by: pardon me on December 2, 2002 04:39 PMDammit, dejah. Ain't you birthin' yet? Whenever you go a few hours without updating your livejournal, I become convinced that It has begun.
You know what's good for an overdue baby? Wrasslin'. Now c'mere.
Posted by: jpoulos on December 2, 2002 04:44 PMIf dejah jr. and jonmc share a birthday, will the celebrations get out of hand?
In any case, I'm getting a head start. It's PBR-me time, followed by a Nashville royalty honky tonk hellbilly band, who incidentally are looking for a bassist and fiddle player.
Posted by: liam on December 2, 2002 05:52 PMHey! That tracklist is full of 9622 tags!
1. Go Fuck You
2. Hey Man XXX
3. I'm Drunk Again!
4. "Life of Sin" XXX

and it wouldn't be dejah jr., it would be dejah two!

Posted by: amberglow again on December 2, 2002 06:22 PMIs it dudley moore? is he still alive?
No his illness caught up with him last year. I wish at the time of his sighting by me I had known more of his ailment. When I saw him at KBF in the late 80's it was ass-u-med by all he was just being a hollywood Penis wrinkle. Instead he will be remembered by me as a charming ass;P

Posted by: amberglow on December 2, 2002 07:01 PMYeah, Bedazzled was great. I have that on VHS somewhere. And of course Pete & Dud.
Those Arthur movies I could do without though.

Yes, Liam. I recognized the Derek & Clive reference immediately, but then, the worst job I ever had was picking lobsters out of Jane Mansfield's bum. The lobsters never 'ad the upper 'and, mind you.
Good gawd, I'm drubk. I went to the dentist this arfternoon and 'e 'ad 'is way with me. I'm not making this part up. 'iccup.

Posted by: fadedamberglow on December 2, 2002 09:34 PMBirthday girl is here, stuffing her face with chocolate cake my redheaded daughter made me. In 40 minutes I will be handing the birthday baton over to Jon-who is running the anchor lap on the birthday relay.
Slightly off topic-shouldn't I be getting royalties on that tattoo? I have seen the site that pic came from, and indeed they call that one the "bunnyfire". I emailed them a long time ago and haven't heard a word.

Posted by: tizzie on December 3, 2002 12:55 PMActually she looks like a chic I went to grade school with, Gina Atkins as a grown up. That's not really saying much since most kids look like a grown up compared to me.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on December 3, 2002 01:14 PMBaby update: In honor of the 9622 birthdays, I have gone into labor. :) So there. I'm headed off to hospital in a couple of hours, where upon I will give birth to probably the most perfect baby ever. ;)
I'll send pics when and if he ever actually makes an appearance. :)
Posted by: dejah420 on December 3, 2002 02:23 PMYay! Best of luck to you and your lil one, dejah. May the birth be quick. I would say painless but that would just be mocking you.
Good luck!
Posted by: brittney on December 3, 2002 02:25 PMWow ... so it looks like dejah's baby will share a birthday with jonmc. Better buy him some flannel onesies.
Posted by: pardon me on December 3, 2002 02:33 PMHooray! Best. Baby. Announcement. Ever.
I have this mental image of Dejah420 sitting at her computer, saying "You get the car, honey. I'll be right with you as soon as I tell the monkeys."
The woman in the picture? Obviously a Blues Sister.
Posted by: octobersurprise on December 3, 2002 02:33 PMIt's like Miguel dashing off cocktail recipes before his anniversary dinner. Now we've got dejah typing while in labor.
I recommend "Post, dammit!" as your labor mantra. I think it will help. Best of luck!
Posted by: witchstone on December 3, 2002 02:39 PMpush 'em out!

Waaaaay out!!
just doing my part.
Hey, that's great news, Dejah!
Congrats to all concerned.

Posted by: jonmc on December 3, 2002 02:44 PMCool!
(Look, guys-don't put pressure on her to pop it out before midnight. Some babies take their own sweet time.) But just think-next year it's a quadruple monkey birthday marathon! Yip yip yip uhhuh uhhuh!
Posted by: b****fire on December 3, 2002 02:53 PMExtra yays and yippees. *cranks celebratory Metallica* Happy Birthday, mcjon.
Posted by: liam on December 3, 2002 02:53 PMMiguel, boil some water! Lupo, get some clean rags! Witchstone, bring the gin! We've got birthin' to do!
Don't worry, Dejah, we're on our way!
(maybe that'll scare it outta her...)
Posted by: tizzie on December 3, 2002 02:57 PMHappy day, that's is so cool. Baby Monkey!
Oh, and Tiz, I thought the picture looked familiar but I didn't know what it was from. liam won the prize and I'm sending him some monkey mixes. Happy Birthday jon!
9622.net: We don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies.
Posted by: octobersurprise on December 3, 2002 03:12 PMWow, Dejah, good luck. A holiday baby, what a wonderful gift to bring into this world.
Okay we need three volunteers:
One to call my boss and tell him I'll be gone for the rest of the day
One to get Dejah to tell us which hospital she'll be in and what room
And One to hook me up with a webcam and some knowledge about how to broadcast this blessed event.
Then....Live Monkey Birthing!
Congrats Dejah. It's been a long time coming. Good luck, and make sure to get us those pics soon!
Posted by: ufez on December 3, 2002 03:28 PMget us those pics soon!
I'm sure soon is on her mind about now.
Imagine the looks she would have by the staff at the hospital if she yells the following out below in one of those hormone filled mother to be moments with the doctor saying push Dejah.
Dejah:Post baby!, Post damn it!
Doc: oh, you post at 9622net too.
Is she having this child in Dallas?
Posted by: Thomcatspike on December 3, 2002 03:41 PMProbably the wrong time to ask, but did you finish your NaNoWriMo book, De?
Hope it goes quick and well for you. Remember what former baby-birther Thomas from the Bootcamp list says: Go Epidural!
Posted by: shane on December 3, 2002 04:22 PMepidural all the way dejah! mazel tov! (but i think it'll be tomorrow--next year a foursome of bdays!)

In Bedazzeled the movie was set around the turn of the century yet there is a TV antenna in a scene at one of the royal homes....back to you kaf-faux;P
Ps it struck me as strange as for such a big building it had this one antenn atop of it, which I never saw just one on a building while in Eruope. don't they know to share.

I had it as my desktop for a while, but people kept asking me if I was preggers. With a girlish figure like this??!! Puh-leeze!
Posted by: tizzie on December 4, 2002 03:41 PMYes that pick is funny, funnier & the funniest the more I see. It captured the perfect angel inoscense but goober looking tike stage.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on December 5, 2002 06:17 PMack ... happy (late) birthdays all round. Here are some pictures, for some reason which I now forget.

Wow. Who drugged Witchstone?
Also, which one are you, Walrus?
Posted by: kafkaturkeysammich on December 6, 2002 12:56 PMWe'd only had 6 rounds at that point. You should have seen Walrus after 13 Guinesses.
Posted by: witchstone on December 6, 2002 12:59 PMWalrus is the stunned looking chap on the left in the first pic. Roobarb is on the left in the second pic.
Thirteen guinesses contain enough calories to feed a small sub-saharan village for a month. Or so I've read.
Posted by: jpoulos on December 6, 2002 01:02 PMStunned? I'm sure I paid for one less n, and an o, not a u. You can't drink Guinness in a sub-saharan village ... it would go all warm and flat.
It's a glow-in-the-dark raver in a hoodie with a drum, kaf. No, I don't know either ...

Okay,so who the hell is the guy on the right in both pictures?
Posted by: anathema on December 6, 2002 07:43 PMThe technical term for those poor people is "pinheads". Nope, that isn't politically correct either.
Posted by: b****fire on December 6, 2002 09:05 PMI think it is Witchstone's beau, the way he's leaning her way and all.
I mean, the guy on the right that anathema asked about. Not the fellow in the dress in the family portrait.
Posted by: tizzie on December 6, 2002 10:10 PMJust a friend. I don't believe in beaux. They're far too "Glass Menagerie" for my comfort.
Posted by: witchstone on December 7, 2002 03:08 PMHoly crap! I knew it wasn't safe to leave for a vacation...the day I left, old dejah goes into labor. And I missed our first birth announcement. Or labor announcement. Whatever.
Well, I saw monkeys first hand while I was gone, and dropped regards from all of us to all of them, so I guess it was okay. There were some small gorillas tykes that were too cute for words. And gibbons. And bonobos, although they weren't as randy as I've heard they can be.
And then I ripped off my thumbnail at the airport on the way back home, which sucked but we've got it on ice, and we're going to re-attach soon. After I drink away the throbbing pain.
Posted by: readymade on December 7, 2002 07:57 PMWelcome back, readymade! We still have not had an official announcement of birth, but we assume it has occurred. Sorry to hear about your thumb. Hope you took pictures.
Of the monkeys, not the thumb.

Thank you. The face transplant was excruciatingly painful, but with the Miguel Cardoso stamp of approval, I guess it all worked out in the end!
Posted by: witchstone on December 8, 2002 06:27 PMThank you. The face transplant was excruciatingly painful
No to mention all the work it took us to get that face for her. It took two fifths of bourbon and three pairs of scissors, man.
I just hope that drunk supermodel dosen't show up at the door wanting it back...

Does that mean people think I'm a creep, too? Bummer.
We're creeps, tizzie - let's face it. But waiddaminute: can women be creeps? I don't think so. Women can be scary and other impressive things. But only men can be creeps. Or goofballs. Or wuzzes. Women are always much cooler. I bet they're responsible for all the unsolved murders in the world. All men, by definition, get caught. Jack The Ripper, despite Patricia Cornwell's efforts in this month's Vanity Fair, was almost certainly some spiteful Victorian virago with a grudge and a scalpel. ;)

Frickin' writers. I was just about to say "Damn, girlfriend, you is smokin'," but that just seems kind of inadequate now. Hmmm, maybe I just need some sort of artistic analogy. How about: "Looking at Witchstone reminds me of watching Gilligan's Island in color for the first time, and seeing Ginger's beautiful red hair. Fess up: You're related to Tina Louise, aren't you?"
Posted by: pardon me on December 9, 2002 11:59 AMMiguel, if I get to be in the same category with your esteemed self, whether that be monkey, creep, or *gasp* writer, then it's an honor.

Mostly it's about pictures of monkeys and shit. Sometimes it's about quantum physics, but only on the first Wednesday of the third month during leap year.

Posted by: witchstone on May 9, 2003 11:43 AMA note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
