January 09, 2003 : What's an Electracom?

I have just posted a picture of ElectraWoman and DynaGirl. There is no particular reason for such a thing.

There exists something called The Electra Woman and Dyna Girl Webopedia. There is no particular reason for such a thing.

Summoned to Electra-base
By the electracoms they wear.
Lori and Judy dare to face
any criminal anywhere.

People have said these things about that :

Sids and Marty Kroft are the minions of Satan, you know that don't you?

Posted by: readymade on January 9, 2003 12:35 PM

Krofft-even more proof that they're not of this earthly plane. And there is just no excuse for H.R. Puf'n'stuf.

sa-weet

Posted by: anathema on January 9, 2003 12:37 PM

A dream combo: HR Giger's HR PufnStuf.

"Meanwhile, in his hidden laboratory under the city, Professor Chaos is putting the final touches on his most devious invention ever..."

Professor Chaos: "This is indeed my most devious invention ever!"

Nameless underling: "What's it called, Professor?"

Professor Chaos: "I call it...the ElectraVibe."

Note: This wasn't terribly amusing to me, until I googled for "electravibe" and came up with this.

The worst part of the whole thing is that all these years later, I can still remember parts of the theme song.

Did she actually say "Electra-Far Out!"

That is so cool.

Posted by: jpoulos on January 9, 2003 12:58 PM

Not to mention the Electra Complex, that emerged under hypnotherapy years later.

Posted by: kafkaesque on January 9, 2003 01:09 PM

Surely, thundersluts of the highest order.

Posted by: adampsyche on January 9, 2003 01:29 PM

ElectraWoman caption contest (ok, I'll stop now).

Posted by: adampsyche on January 9, 2003 01:32 PM

Forget those fools (actually, I had never heard of them before today), there is only one superheroine who has captured my heart. And yeah, I'd sleep with her too.

Posted by: witchstone on January 9, 2003 01:46 PM

If, one day, I should take a bride, she will wear black latex.

Posted by: jpoulos on January 9, 2003 02:16 PM

Funny. I had my hands on one of these a few weeks ago. Almost went home with it.

Posted by: eyeballkid on January 9, 2003 02:21 PM

I think Generation X needs a nice cleansing plague of some sort.

Posted by: dong_resin on January 9, 2003 02:36 PM

I thought that was your job, dong.

Posted by: jpoulos on January 9, 2003 02:43 PM

Did she actually say "Electra-Far Out!"

Elctra this, electra-that,
made me elect to change the channel as a kid, one of the first shows I did so.

Posted by: Thomcatspike on January 9, 2003 03:03 PM

True, but mourning becomes Electra.

Oh dear, O'Neill is now spinning in his grave. Forgive me, Eugene!

Posted by: witchstone on January 9, 2003 03:12 PM

Oh, shut up and pass the bottle.

Posted by: Eugene on January 9, 2003 03:18 PM

Actually the first show to make me do that, IIRC, was an episode of The Carol Burnett Show in which she played this woman who lived in a basement who kept getting older and more incoherent as the episode went on. I musta been about 7 or so. I distinctly remember saying aloud, "I've got better things to do than watch this woman get old." Then I went off to play with my legos or something.

Oddly enough, I usually find Carol Burnett amusing these days.

Posted by: jonmc on January 9, 2003 03:18 PM

If it wasn't for Carol Burnett, we'd have no Dorf. Think about it.

Posted by: kafkaesque on January 9, 2003 03:19 PM

I recall that Electra Woman and Dyna Girl was the first television show that aroused more.... ahem... adolescent feelings in me.

Come to think of it, I think we may have reached the root cause for my addiction to anime.

Posted by: eyeballkid on January 9, 2003 03:22 PM

I wanted to post this on the latest SUV thread on Mefi, but Matt deleted it first.

So, without further ado:

Posted by: Crash on January 9, 2003 03:23 PM

The concept "HR Giger's HR Pufnstuf" has elicited wonderful things from the depths of my subconscious, thanks Kaf.

Posted by: kokogiak on January 9, 2003 03:30 PM

Did she actually say "Electra-Far Out!"

A spinoff with Burt Ward would be gangbusters.

Posted by: Cyrano on January 9, 2003 04:16 PM

Crash, you are teh Electro-Dali of our times!

Also, I'm forced to type this while reaching around the massive erection that has been inspired by ElectroWoman and DynaGirl. Please excuse any mustaeks. And thank you Lupo.

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on January 9, 2003 06:52 PM

...'massive' being used in a relative sense, I hasten to add.

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on January 9, 2003 07:29 PM

Whoa! Did you see that typin'?!?!

Posted by: tizzie on January 9, 2003 08:41 PM

Ah, Electrobroad and Dynachick are Ok, but the got nothin' on those twin chicks from Mothra who's pretty snappy is his own right.

Posted by: jonmc on January 9, 2003 08:57 PM

Wasn't Mothra a girl?

Posted by: kafkaesque on January 9, 2003 09:24 PM

I dunno, kaf, lets pull the legs apart and check for mothballs...

Posted by: jonmc on January 9, 2003 09:46 PM

surely you saw that coming

Posted by: jonmc on January 9, 2003 09:47 PM

If you have to give yourself a reacharound, the massivity is implied.

Posted by: Crash on January 9, 2003 10:03 PM

Tips expected. Straight-men don't work for free.

Posted by: kafkaesque on January 9, 2003 10:19 PM

How about a rhubarb and custard candy?

I tried for the first time today based on the advice of the nice English dude who wrote this book. I gave one to lisa, she thought it tasted weird, but I thought it was excellent, but then again I like Morinaga Chews, so I may not be representative

Posted by: jonmc on January 9, 2003 10:43 PM

One day I want to go to Jonmc's house with a bundle of candy-covered offal meats and film him eating them.

Is that wrong?

Posted by: kafkaesque on January 10, 2003 11:59 AM

Depends. Is it a snuff film?

Posted by: witchstone on January 10, 2003 12:28 PM

You kinky bastard...:)

Posted by: jonmc on January 10, 2003 12:43 PM

Will this involve dressing jonmc up like Dynagirl?

Posted by: eyeballkid on January 10, 2003 01:48 PM

Oh, come on eyeball, I'd look so much hotter in ElectraWoman's outfit.

Posted by: jonmc on January 10, 2003 01:50 PM

But jon, pigtails are much more you than that Farrah-hair.

Posted by: tizzie on January 10, 2003 01:53 PM

Besides, you're a brunette.

Posted by: witchstone on January 10, 2003 02:28 PM

Only my hairdresser knows for sure.

Posted by: jonmc on January 10, 2003 03:16 PM

I admit...with some trepidation, mind you...that as a child, I once dressed up as Dyna-Girl for halloween. My mom dressed up as Electra-Woman...proving once again that moms will do extraordinary things to make their children happy. ;)

Why not join in and say something too?

But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
