So is this where I can bitch about my brothers predicament.
As of now he is a young man whose life is on hold. Literally as he is right now filling out all the paper work one fills out before going into combat, war. Come to think of it, I would not know where to start if I had to write a will.
So he will either train for 28 days here in the states then ship to Kuwait, or ship out for Kuwait as soon as this weekend. I ask you all to pray to what ever God you have as this kid, my youngest brother is had enough hardship in his life to not have to endure more it, life's aches & pains. *sniff* *sniff*
Thanks for the energy Crash. Now to go home and take a nice dip in the Jacuzzi and write him a hand written letter of: How proud I am of him.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on February 4, 2003 04:02 PMps, what's on the tele-prompter(above)? I can make out;....in &...out
Posted by: Thomcatspike on February 4, 2003 04:05 PMTCS, prayers for your brother's safety.
Also, Bush's prompter is "Breathe in...Breathe out".
Posted by: Crash on February 4, 2003 04:09 PMThomcatspike, I hope your brother stays safe, along with everyone else who is being dragged into this mess.
It's always the old to lead us to the war,
It's always the young to fall,
Now look at all we've won with the sabre and the gun -
Tell me is it worth it all?
I sympathize with you TCS. The first time around in Kuwait, the guy I was dating went through kind of the same thing. He was a reservist and his unit was infantry, so if they got called up, they were probably headed for any front lines. They were pretty close to being sent to Kuwait, but didn't get called up until just after, which meant he got sent to Bosnia. (Either way, it sucked.) Your brother's got my thoughts and well wishes. I hope he stays safe.
Posted by: aine42 on February 4, 2003 06:25 PMAs tired as the Bush/chimp thing gets, I still find it nothing short of brilliant.
Posted by: adampsyche on February 4, 2003 07:50 PMCrashy : now that's some quality Bushfunny.
Thomcat, I don't know what to say about your brother other than I hope he doesn't die, and doesn't have to kill anyone either. What a horrendous corner to be in - to be expected to kill in Dubya's name. The punishments of hell couldn't be much worse.
Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on February 4, 2003 09:24 PMMy thoughts and prayers are with your brother, and the rest of the young soldiers as they gear up to go into battle to appease the bloodlust of chickenhawks.
Posted by: dejah420 on February 4, 2003 10:24 PMis it just me, or does the guy behind Bush here look a bit like Malkovich, Malkovich, MALKOVICH!
TCS, my thoughts are included with those above. If you're interested (and I have no idea if you are or not) there's going to be an anti-war march in downtown Dallas on the 15th (it's a Saturday afternoon). e-mail me if you want more info.
Posted by: ufez on February 4, 2003 11:02 PMYes, definitely, Spike. All the best for your bro and his safe return.
Posted by: kafka, esq. on February 4, 2003 11:37 PMA virgin goat was sacrificed right quick, Thom.
Well... in a manner of speaking. It's sorry it's alive, at any rate.
Point is, I've got the juju working for your bro.
Posted by: dong_resin on February 5, 2003 01:19 AMMuch support over here as well, from myself and aw and jasper.
Posted by: adampsyche on February 5, 2003 07:54 AMThom, may your brother be safe, and everybody with him.
I have friends already over there. Frankly it doesn't seem real...
Best wishes for the safe return of your brother, TCS. And no matter what my feelings on this war are, I still salute our men and women in uniform. I don't come out of sabbatical for just anyone ya know...

Good morning all, [thom lifts mug of joe in the air]
You All Are the Greatest! Thanks for the support. I'll be sure to share this with my brother, again thank you.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on February 7, 2003 11:43 AMI wonder if we could self-post ourselves this coming Saturday. Not just in Dallas and it's time to tell the world in analog how you feel. So post yourself to be seen by the whole world. Maybe we could even get a 9622net thing going, hey we are connected. Plus when was the last time you felt your own voted mattered. Now to do what is a right & a left, be heard.
Posted by: Thomcatspike on February 8, 2003 03:01 PMThom, I hope your brother comes back ok.
I wish Bush's twins had to go too...

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
