In honor of April Fool's Day, Cartoon Network has been taken over by chimps. It's Monkey Marathon Day, where every show features a monkey.
First, the cartoon network. Next...the world ? ? ?
Posted by jpoulos at April 01, 2003 09:37 AMI say the Food Network is next. Let's hold Emeril at gunpoint and force him to cook our way. Starting here....
Posted by: jonmc on April 1, 2003 09:41 AMI gave up teevee for Lent. Curse you, Cartoon Network!
Posted by: ColdChef on April 1, 2003 09:43 AMMy five-year-old and I got to watch two classic episodes of Space Ghost this morning thanks to the monkey invasion. He kept asking "Where's Brak? Where's Zorak?"
It was then that I realized the countless hours of cartoon watching are finally paying off. *sniff*
Posted by: whatnot on April 1, 2003 09:50 AMHa! I watched two classic eps of Space Ghost this morning, and I kept asking "Where's Brak? Where's Zorak?"
Posted by: jpoulos on April 1, 2003 10:07 AMDamn. I'm considering recording this whole day to DVD.
Posted by: adampsyche on April 1, 2003 10:16 AMWait til you see chimpanzees beating the piss out of those Survivor babies.
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 11:50 AM11:30 a.m. Flintstones Fred Goes Ape
They got Fred too...yabbaadabbaadoooo to all of you...
PS you all spilled coffee right below the neck of your shirts :P
Posted by: Thomcatspike on April 1, 2003 12:20 PMah shucks...you guys; thanks for the compliment[looks at calendar], Not…
Posted by: Thomcatspike on April 1, 2003 12:28 PMYou know what sucks? I went to MetaTalk BEFORE I went to MetaFilter this morning. Damn. I bet that would have been funny, too.
Posted by: ColdChef on April 1, 2003 12:30 PMSo you go to MetaTalk to talk about stuff before you know what it is that you want to talk about?
I just go there to pick fights.
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 12:39 PMAfter mostly lurking, I give to you a splendid bit of monkey material: A quicktime movie of Jeff Krulik's documentary, "I created Lancelot Link."
Posted by: machaus on April 1, 2003 01:16 PMMachaus is the friend to all children and my personal idol. I have built a grisly shrine to him in my basement out of the femurs of my victims.
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 01:24 PMMachaus lurks here?!?! I *loved* your killahs.
I know, I know, that's old news - but with five dogs and a cat chez moi, I read it and wept.
Posted by: tizzie on April 1, 2003 01:28 PMHey, remember that really great TV show, Jennifer Slept Here?
Posted by: witchstone on April 1, 2003 01:50 PMWith John Cusack and Tom Poston. A piquant yet soggy combo platter of soon to be's and has beens peppered with the occasional guest never-was.
Posted by: jonmc on April 1, 2003 02:06 PMWhy, jon! You have the pithy sensibilities to be a feisty TV Guide critic! You have missed your calling, son.
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 02:12 PMWith John Cusack and Tom Poston
I am puzzled. I was talking about this show.
Posted by: witchstone on April 1, 2003 02:24 PMOh my christ I do remember that, Witch Person.
Now I'm having It's A Living flashbacks.
Aaaughh! Help!
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 02:26 PMLook into your heart! I'm praying to you!
Posted by: kafka the drum slowly on April 1, 2003 02:34 PMWait a cotton-pickin' minute. I distinctly remember a show featuring Ann Jillian as a ghost, John Cusack, and Tom Poston. Glen Scarpelli was the skinny little rat on One Day At A Time with Bonnie Franklin who reminds me of my own mother. This is confusing the living shit out of me. I am way too stable for erroneous nostalgia.
Posted by: jonmc on April 1, 2003 02:36 PM*considers kafka's plea*
*looks into heart*
*finds twisted and charred black lump*
*cries*
*reaches out hand to kafka*
April Fool!
*cruelly snatches hand away*
Posted by: witchstone on April 1, 2003 02:38 PMwent to MetaTalk BEFORE I went to MetaFilter this morning.
Being April 1st only reason to view the war-filter Blue today for me.
Thanks Machaus, just love the part from memory; (jersey accent) is it safe to do the interview right here...sure, rarely does a car go by here...[hearing the Rattling sound of a sliding outdoor metal chair] Then a large truck rolls by...

That's the nice thing about being a nondenominational charismatic. No Lent! w00t!
Please don't tell me that has a meaning I'm unaware of.
Posted by: b*nnyf*re on April 1, 2003 05:17 PMIt's a slow day at work. I just went through and read all the taglines. What a bunch of geniuses we are. Juvenile, sure, but fucking geniuses.

Also, machaus ate my baby, but I live him anyway.

Bunny totally cheated on her charisma roll. I kept telling her 3d6 is 3d6, but would she listen? No!
Fine. Be a beautiful elf maiden. See if I care. Cheater.

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
