January 04, 2004 : Less than 18 days....

A worker cleans up a Buddhist temple to greet the upcoming Chinese New Year in Kuala Lumpur. Ethnic Chinese Malaysians will celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year of Monkey, which falls on Jan. 22 this year.

People have said these things about that :

We should celebrate, dammit. It's OUR year. We RULE.

Whaddya say? I was thinking of Vidiot's post about the many things that are lowered at midnite on New Years. Monkey poo?

Posted by: tizzie on January 4, 2004 04:10 PM

Sweet! Of course we should! It'll be like a whole New Year just for us (and a few Chinese, most of them not really into the old 9622 mystique). If ever an excuse was needed for celebrating, er, good excuses and celebrations, this is definitely the one to go for.

What shall we do, then? I mean, apart from bring out our bottles?

Anyone know where a good online Fez can be acquired?

Here's a shot of me and the kid.

Okay, not really. If I can hold out though, he'll be a Chinese New Year monkey, and that's not half bad.

And here, in public, let me just say that jpoulos should make me eat humble pie.

Migs:

How about this, this, or this?

I still like my fez best, though.

Posted by: Vidiot on January 5, 2004 08:45 PM

Oops. Last "this" should have actually been this.

Posted by: Vidiot on January 5, 2004 08:47 PM

Ha ha, Sam! It's the tiny Gioconda fez for me!

Apropos of nothing, this book is a great read.

Posted by: Vidiot on January 5, 2004 09:24 PM

from the book review: it is no longer possible to wear a fez without irony

My guess would have been that it is impossible to wear a fez without bobby pins.

Posted by: tizzie on January 5, 2004 09:43 PM

eat humble pie? I'd rather listen to it myself...

Someone was telling me that if you get Mad Lamb Disease it turns your pubic hair to wool.

It's the disease that doesn't end
Yes it goes on and on my friends
Some people started spreading it not knowing what it was
And they'll still have it tommorow just because...

Someone was telling me that if you get Mad Lamb Disease it turns your pubic hair to wool.

"Honey, why do you keep sniffing your sweater?"

Posted by: Cyrano on January 6, 2004 10:35 PM

So ever since that vacation in Brazil, I've been safe? That's a relief.

Posted by: Vidiot on January 6, 2004 10:57 PM

Is it wrong to love this song?

Posted by: Miguel on January 7, 2004 03:57 AM

Of course not! It's got drama, pathos, and monkeys. How could it be wrong?

Posted by: tizzie on January 7, 2004 08:03 AM

Someone was telling me that if you get Mad Lamb Disease it turns your pubic hair to wool.

That explains so much about this song.

For there is surely nothing more beautiful in this world than the sight of a lone man facing singlehandedly a half a ton of angry pot roast. (Tom Lehrer on bullfighting.)
