January 21, 2004 : The Quake is Coming

TEH Quake!

OK, boys and girls. Here's the dilly-o.

Yours truly will be in Los Angeles next month from the 7th to the 17th. I have a wedding to go to on the 14th, and a rehearsal dinner the night before, but other than that I'm free. Let's meet.

An added wrinkle: I just spoke to Witchstone. She's got the lead (!) in a play, down San Diego way. I propose we go see her. (The play runs Tuesday through Sunday, with matinees on weekends.)

Who wants to meet a Lupo?

People have said these things about that :

Is there any nudity in this play?

Posted by: ColdChef on January 21, 2004 10:26 PM

So jealous. Especially if there's nudity.

Posted by: ana on January 21, 2004 11:43 PM

So...what's the play?

Posted by: ColdChef on January 21, 2004 11:59 PM

Is it "Yay! The Administrators Finally Figure Out Why There's Only Two Posts on the Front Page, and Fix It! Before They Jet Off to Cali, to Hang with the Beautiful, or at Least not Cold, in the purely Climatological Sense, People."

Nah, probably not. It got lousy reviews in New York.

I guess it's a brand new play. They were still writing up through rehearsals. Something about women airplane pilots during WWII.

Witchy plays the goth dominatrix, natch.

(or maybe an airplane pilot during WWII, I forget which.)

Witchy the Riveter?

Posted by: Vidiot on January 22, 2004 01:27 AM

She can do it!

Witchy plays the goth dominatrix, natch.

*blink blink*

Is it called "Smacked Stacked WACs"?

God I hope so.

You do realize that LA to San Diego is like eleven hours, right? I mean, sure, it says it's only 120 miles, but this is SoCal we're talking about, where it's faster to get out of the car and crawl than it is to drive.

pshaw! Ain't no mountain high enough...etc, etc.

Posted by: jpoulos on January 22, 2004 09:12 AM

By the way, make sure you check out the Museum of Jurassic Technology (and possibly the adjacent Center for Land Use Interpretation) in Culver City while you're out there.

Yay! The Administrators Finally Figure Out Why There's Only Two Posts on the Front Page, and Fix It! Before They Jet Off to Cali, to Hang with the Beautiful, or at Least not Cold, in the purely Climatological Sense, People.

Actually, there's only two posts on the front page because the posts are set to age off the front after about a week. There's only been about two posts a week lately.

Yeah, what eyeball said! What, are your posting fingers broke or somethin'? :-)

Posted by: jpoulos on January 22, 2004 03:51 PM

Even if Angelenos don't want to make the trip South, we should still get together in LA. I'm staying with my sister in Venice.

Posted by: jpoulos on January 22, 2004 03:53 PM

I'll most likely be hanging with friends in Santa Monica on Saturday night. If not, we can meet up anytime you're around. I'd even make the drive to see Witchy if I wasn't working that week.

hmmmmm

Oh the envy, the bright green vomitous envy!

What, are your posting fingers broke or somethin'?

That's watcha get for borrowin' money from Vinnie "Posting Finger Breaker" Caravaggio.

Posted by: arto on January 23, 2004 01:22 AM

I was on parole and couldn't borrow
money from a real bank, so I called 1-800-Shy-Lock.
Before you could say "Ouch! Not my legs!"
I had a loan.

Thanks Sharkey!

Also, you are aware that on the Chinese calendar 2004 is the Year of the Monkey, right?

Posted by: jpoulos on January 23, 2004 09:22 AM

Errr, um, yes.

Posted by: tizzie on January 23, 2004 12:11 PM

*hangs head*

Posted by: jpoulos on January 23, 2004 04:23 PM

*gives Lupo a kiss*

S'okay, pal.

Posted by: tizzie on January 23, 2004 09:40 PM
Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
