I wouldn't want to say his name in such a public medium, but we all know who has just been welcomed into the world, to well-deserved acclaim.
Congratulations, Uncle and Auntie Fes!
That boy will yet save us all. Or, at the very least, make us think and laugh as much as you did.
P.S. Any tips, reproduction-wise, gratefully received. ;)

Make us laugh and think as much as you have done and do and, even according to the most pessimistic cast of mind, will no doubt continue doing. Or making?
God, I hate the English language! I just hope you're all clever enough to know what I meant. The way it came out, it sounded like something from the past, whereas I meant something entirely present and future,
I sincerely hope Teresa Heinz Kerry, when she becomes First Lady, will forbid the speaking of Spanish (not to mention the equally troublesome English) and make Portuguese compulsory, so that these confusions will no longer arise and we can all be like brothers and sisters, finally. ;)
Posted by: Miguel on March 5, 2004 08:15 AMYou guys are murdering me with all the props. I really had very little to do with it :) But thank you. As far as tips? Just do what you'd normally do, only, uh, more. And don't fuss over it too much in your head. Like a Ford Prefect flying lesson, about the time you give up thinking about it - kablammo.
But it is my hope I can bring up my sons to be proper gentlemen, as opposed to them following in the father's occasionally dicey and overall rather dubious footsteps. Some days I feel like that old criminal Joe Kennedy, trying to raise Brahmins with bootlegging money, all the while hiding the guns and oil-slick denim jacket with the sleeves cut off behind the Hilfiger khakis in the back closet. I look forward to the days when my sons will have to lie about their provenance :D
OR, they will embrace me, like a clearer-skinned Baron Harkonnen, and my eldest will be cruel, iron-fisted and brutal like the Beast Rabban, while my youngest will be insidious, fey and poison-tipped like a modern day Feyd-Rautha. And together we will venture forth like dark condottiere lords atop destriers, our black pennant never dipping, our moon-silver shield devices etching visions of werewolves in the eyes and souls of the townsfolk.
Monkeys? Meet young Rabban and Feyd
Haiku for my newest son:
None is prouder than
I, that you are hale, but please
stop peeing on me.
In the meantime - anyone up for a CD Swap?
Posted by: Fes on March 5, 2004 09:46 AMAnd also: let's not forget those who have gone before - Milo! Three toasts for thee! May the future capitalisti hawks of the House of Fes be tempered and temper in return the merry idealist evangel from the People's Republic of the Pacific Northwest!
And those to come - scion of ColdChef! May the ground blacken in the tracks of your mile-long boots, and the River rise in deference at your approach!
Posted by: Fes on March 5, 2004 09:59 AMFes, that's a wonderful photo of your two handsome lads. It reminded me of my oldest unwrapping the blanket from his newborn brother, peering curiously, and proudly exclaiming "Toes!"
Posted by: tizzie on March 5, 2004 10:31 AMA swap? Oh, dear. I have been working on a gift for my friend Miguel for a month now, and nearly have it ready to ship. But I suppose a swap could be done.
I merely hope that Messieurs Rabban e Feyd are as genetically gifted in the tongue department as their father.
Posted by: romakimmy on March 5, 2004 12:02 PMErm. I actually did not mean that in the double entendre sense for once.
Posted by: romakimmy on March 5, 2004 12:04 PMCongratulations Fes!

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
