April 01, 2004 : I HATE APRIL 1

Why do I hate April 1?

Anyone else?

People have said these things about that :

"Day after day,
alone on the hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still.
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see that he's just a fool.
And he never gives an answer ..... ".

This is Matt's April Fool joke? Taking the page down?

Posted by: Vidiot on April 1, 2004 01:23 PM

I was in for a few seconds on talk & ask...back to the working bar-b-que-ing outside then.

The time or two I've gotten in, it's been to a wiki-style Mefi. All the other attempts have yielded a JRun error.

Haha! The joke's on us.

*sigh*

Aww crap...sorry about the multiple posts above...my browser was hijacked after downloading some stupid worthless internet crap that’s now f-ing up my internet viewing... Happy April fool in all...

Posted by: thomcatspike on April 1, 2004 01:32 PM

Well, now it's working.

Matt must be awake.

After deleting my cookies because of my browder trouble was when connected into the areas of the blue that I mentioned above, add looked normal with current normal posts...then it crashed. Could everyone trying to login at the same time be causing it?

Lacks the subtle charm and whimsy of, say, being sent to a belly button lint site.

Posted by: dong resin on April 1, 2004 01:42 PM

Why not impress someone by sending them an internet greeting card ... featuring a labelled photo of my world record navel fluff collection.

Impress? errr, no.

Posted by: tizzie on April 1, 2004 02:35 PM

I was rather disappointed to find that this was only ajoke.

(And dong, darling, I was going to shamelessly forward to your site as a poor man's subsititute for a penis lint website but that would have entailed actually updating my blog)

Posted by: romakimmy on April 1, 2004 02:42 PM

"For as long as they can hang on."

That's great.

Posted by: dong resin on April 1, 2004 03:23 PM

I created this for just such an emergency [Mondofilter.com]. Self-link, rinse and repeat. No content, just links.

Posted by: Mondo on April 1, 2004 04:04 PM

Gathering the filters. Ooh. Good idea.

Posted by: aine42 on April 1, 2004 04:09 PM

but that would have entailed actually updating my blog

Ha ha, romakimmy!

You're not alone in this noble quest - I haven't touched mine in over a year. :)

Posted by: Miguel on April 1, 2004 04:24 PM

I'd drop you two deadbeats off my links roll, but your names are just too cute.

Posted by: dong resin on April 1, 2004 04:47 PM

Well, I thought it was funny. You people.

Posted by: salmonberry on April 1, 2004 06:52 PM

Also, this should be on a t-shirt.

Posted by: Crash on April 1, 2004 08:15 PM

Wait, IT IS!

Posted by: Crash on April 1, 2004 08:20 PM

In other news, the former place of employment of at least 2 monkeys no longer exists.

That's an incredibly freaky feeling.

Posted by: jonmc on April 1, 2004 09:32 PM

Say bye-bye, ranch.

Posted by: tizzie on April 2, 2004 08:19 AM

They're just becoming more efficient!

Be quiet, big man! Your links roll is what's keeping us alive. If I told you the number of times I've checked just to see if you maintained my link (the only foreigner and, in fact, human being ever to do so) I would have to use someone else's hands too. :)

Posted by: Miguel on April 2, 2004 11:19 AM

Oh, it'll never happen.
I love my monkey brothers and sisters.
You're just like the The Masons, but without all the scary clout and Paul Wolfowitz.

Posted by: dong resin on April 2, 2004 02:16 PM

You sure about Wolfowitz not being here? (Fester, come on, own up. It's okay.)

Posted by: Chico on April 2, 2004 02:57 PM

Oh Migs, luv, I neglected to display appropriate good sportsmanship vis-a-vis Italy's win in the Braga friendly the other day.

Neener neener neener.
*does booty shaking victory dance*

;-) Mwah.

Mmmmm....booty-shaking victory dances....

Posted by: Vidiot on April 2, 2004 08:35 PM

The defeat was worth it, Kimmy, as it made me think of you all the more. :)

Hey Romakimmy, you're changing planes at JFK, right?

Am looking, ufez. Though I am simultaneously pining after the days before the Euro was introduced and cursing the stupid cheerleader who scheduled our high school reunion dead smack in the middle of high season.

Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
