This new, dangerous, hot-blooded Miguel has got me a little... well....
I had to post the baby animals that signify my undying lust!
I meant this new swashbuckling Iberian tough guy.
If I were ever a damsel in distress... ooohh....
Posted by: tizzie on June 4, 2004 01:47 PMMy respect and admiration for Miguel the deflater-of-Metafilterian-ego increases nearly every day, even as my rank jealousy for his capturing the Tizzie's heart makes me seeth with undilutable venom. Alas, Migs, how you do tear us each asunder in your own inimitable fashion!
Posted by: Fes on June 4, 2004 02:01 PMYeah, what he said.
And now here's how pissed off I am -
Reagan's finally dead, but I'm going away for a week and MetaFilter's down at the moment so I won't get to see what those heathen lefties have to say about this happy occasion. Dang, dang, dang.
Sorry, didn't mean to drag politics into the poo-flinging. Poo-flinging should be and remain politics-neutral.
Oh, and I wouldn't be so stupid as to say where I'm going away to, now that I'm a big Internet Celebrity and all (yes, mr_davis, that dig was directed at you. I said it first, dagnabbit, and I'm not afraid to say so!) but it may well be the same place I went to two years ago. Damn, how time flies!
Take care of the place, y'all! Don't let the hair pills and hot!lesbain! stories take over ...
Posted by: yhbc on June 5, 2004 11:29 PMOf course I can't link directly to the picture on shutterfly anymore. I should have known that! *smacks forehead* Suffice to say, it's one of the series from LAST NOVEMBER of the MeFi-Boston meetup, and is the particular shot of the bunch of us outside of the Border Cafe, and my caption is "Of COURSE they'll have a table for us. We are internet celebreties!"
Now I ask you; where did crash get the inspiration for his MeFi-Occupation, hmmm?
Pfft. I've been calling myself an internet celebrity since I helped Al Gore invent it.
Posted by: Crash on June 6, 2004 02:13 AMCommish! A real vacation. The kind with sand and waves and drinks with parasols in 'em. The kind I never get enough of!
Have a wonderful time, my dear. We'll try to keep the dust from settling.
Posted by: tizzie on June 6, 2004 08:12 AMI know dust. I've spent most of my career around dust. I toured with Kansas, I've taken the Pledge pledge, I've driven through Oklahoma with Henry Fonda in a baby-blue Chevy with the top down, Alice from The Brady Bunch was my mentor and homegirl, and I was the MVP of the 1978 Tostitos Dust Bowl. I speak fluent dust.
And you, ColdChef, good sir, are not dust, nor have I ever seen you settle for anything.
Don't ever, ever change, man.
Posted by: Chico on June 7, 2004 12:03 PMI was the MVP of the 1978 Tostitos Dust Bowl
Then still known as the Angeldust Bowl.
Posted by: liam on June 7, 2004 01:45 PM*blink*...
*blink blink*...
...
Oh yeah, right! That's right! You're right!
Posted by: Chico on June 7, 2004 03:14 PMGot a damn fine disc from Mixmaster Fes yesterday. The man knows how to create a mood! No wonder Mrs. Fes keeps making those babies.
*throws her allegiance to Fes, since Miguel has ignored this passionate thread completely*
Posted by: tizzie on June 8, 2004 09:23 AMWhere is our Miguel, anyway?
Actually, where is everybody today?
**crickets**
I'm here!
We gots the monkeylove!
And if no one else is around, it'll just be the two of us...
Posted by: Vidiot on June 10, 2004 02:21 PMYay for us, keeping the home fires burning and the litter boxes emptied.
*flings poo at Vidiot*
Posted by: tizzie on June 10, 2004 02:33 PMIt's mostly the work fires lately. They just asked/told me to work an extra two-three hours tonight.
I get OT, but ugh.
Posted by: Vidiot on June 10, 2004 02:38 PMOT is good, my friend - a windfall. I am glad that someone among us is profitting from you-know-who's passing. Seriously, who's paying for all this hoo-ha?
I had to laugh when I saw in the local paper today that the city offices in Elsmere, Kentucky will be closed tomorrow for the national day of mourning. Uh, Reagan could probably not have found Elsmere on a map even before he had Alzheimer's. So all twelve people in the city office take the day off, the cops get overtime, and what's the point? It doesn't make him any less dead.
[/rant]
I get OT, but ugh.
Also from what I can tell the city employees of Dallas have a paid holiday this Friday. WTF
A note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
