October 28, 2004 : Monkey On Music Row

Happy birthday, dear Brittney...

Posted by Vidiot at October 28, 2004 03:11 AM

People have said these things about that :

happy birthday, chica! I tried to find something along the lines of "birthday monkey dance" but this is the closest I could get. But it's okay, because I'm all about ruining the image and the style that you're used to.

Have a good one.

Happy Birthday from bowlers and strangers.

Posted by: liam on October 28, 2004 10:09 AM

All the best to my favorite obsessive-to-nearly-psychotic David Lynch fan. Happy Birthday!

Posted by: jpoulos on October 28, 2004 11:03 AM

Happy Birthday, Tennessee Lady. I shall hoist a Schlitz skyward in your name this evening.

Posted by: jonmc on October 28, 2004 11:24 AM

happy day to you!

Posted by: adam on October 28, 2004 04:10 PM

(just a day ahead of jasper, who turns a big fat 6 tomorrow)

Posted by: adam on October 28, 2004 04:10 PM

happy birthday, velociraptor!

Posted by: jpoulos on October 28, 2004 05:00 PM

Happy birthday, Brittney! Nothing less than very peachy for you, every single day for a year!

Posted by: Miguel on October 28, 2004 10:03 PM

Oh, wow. I have a birthday thread and didn't know it.

Thanks, ya'll.

I'm tipsy on sake and ready for cake!

Posted by: brittney on October 28, 2004 10:35 PM

someone's about to find out that sake and cake don't mix well...

Anyway... Happy Birthday

Posted by: tj on October 29, 2004 12:27 AM

the best are twenty-
something monkeys that can still
drink, puke, and find work!

Happy days, brittney!

Posted by: ufez on October 29, 2004 12:48 AM

Sake and cake don't even rhyme. They're tricky that way.

Posted by: Vidiot on October 29, 2004 01:52 AM

In my extensive experience, saké and cake mix very well and our birthday girl should have no problems tomorrow morning.

Even if it wasn't rice cake!

Professional drunkards know that the combination of a liquid and a sponge (such as wine and bread) is always a good idea. :)

Posted by: Miguel on October 29, 2004 02:10 AM

Or, in jonmc's case, malt liquor and Twinkies.

(I kid because I love.)

Posted by: Vidiot on October 29, 2004 10:43 AM

Perhaps Brittney *was* pronouncing "cake" in the same way as "sake," which would make it... ah...

..."cocky"?

Happy Birthday!

Posted by: Fes on October 29, 2004 11:07 AM

heh.

Especially those "Shrek" twinkies pips bought me. With the green filling. Great with margaritas.

Posted by: jonmcn on October 29, 2004 12:08 PM

Haven't you been ill, jon? Should you be eating crap like that?

Posted by: jpoulos on October 29, 2004 01:01 PM

It was oral surgery I had, j-po, so for a week and a half I abstained from both most of my sweet treats and from booze (cos of the vicodin I was prescribed). Now I'm fine as ever.

Although I am eating a banana with my lunch today, just so I get something organic in me.

Posted by: jonmcn on October 29, 2004 01:17 PM

Dear Lord above, it is the apocalypse. What with the Bosox winning, and Jonmc eating bananas and listening to electronica...

Posted by: Vidiot on October 29, 2004 01:46 PM

Well, I'm giving it a try, vidiot. Mainly because I've exhausted all the old stuff in my usual genres and none of the new stuff has been grabbing me.

But who knows, maybe the pigs I saw flying by the subway this morning weren't a fluke after all...

Posted by: jonmc on October 29, 2004 01:56 PM

Woooo! Paaaaarty!

Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on October 30, 2004 08:23 AM

Wow, stav. That is the best long-armed-monkeys-riding-in-a-tiny-yellow-El-Camino animated gif EVAR!

Posted by: brittney on October 30, 2004 10:27 AM

That's no tiny El Camino, that's an AMC PACER!

RUN, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, BEFORE THE MEDIOCRITY RUBS OFF ON YOU!

Posted by: Crash on October 30, 2004 10:22 PM

My mom had a british racing green Pacer when I was a teenager. I had heaps of sex in that car, but not with my mom. Or monkeys.

It is the greatest car EVAR. Except for the Subaru Brat, one of which I owned a few years later, and in which I didn't have any sex at all.

The only other car I've owned was a Morris Minor Van.

I am a goof.

Happy birthday, British Knee.

Posted by: kaf on October 31, 2004 12:43 PM

Happy belated birthdays, Brittney and Jasper!

And a great big jump-for-joy hug of congratulations to Jpoulos. I looked over some guy's shoulder on the plane this morning and saw in the "Week in Review" section that the Sox won. That's your team, and you're the MAN.

Posted by: tizzie on October 31, 2004 08:26 PM

Welcome back, Tizzie! Are you going to post your travelogue?

Posted by: Vidiot on October 31, 2004 11:46 PM

What Vidiot said.

Posted by: dong resin on November 1, 2004 09:26 AM

I will, I promise. Maybe this afternoon if I can finish emptying out my work e-mail box - aaaack!

Posted by: tizzie on November 1, 2004 10:02 AM

I've got tears of joy in my lap from this. At least, I hope those are tears...

Posted by: ufez on November 1, 2004 11:19 AM

*stands thunderslutstruck*

So close, and yet so far away...

and I shall likely be in Dallas in April.

*sobs*

Posted by: Fes on November 1, 2004 11:39 AM

*weeps piteously, punctuated only by heaving, racking sobs of abject misery and despair*

Posted by: Vidiot on November 1, 2004 02:58 PM

And I had to go and get a job....

Posted by: tj on November 1, 2004 05:38 PM

Aw, never fear fellas. We'll make sure to do extra special shoutouts.

Posted by: romakimmy on November 2, 2004 07:04 AM

I suppose that, now that Miss Britt has had her moment in the sun, I can safely reveal that I share that birthday with Brittney! Huzzah! Mikro, the guy that lurks so much that he's never actually even here.

I also now share a ZIP code with Brittney, but we hung out a lot more when she lived 30 miles away. Go fig.

Happy birthday last week, Brittney! I bought you a limping shambles of an election!

Why not join in and say something too?

A note about posting images:

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found here. Thanks.
