Got new windows in Casa Tizzie today! The installers come back tomorrow to do the last three. They look great and are so soundproof that the neighbors can't hear me weeping when I think of how much they cost.

Would the parallels not have been more shocking if one had used a porcine sandwich? For I find the concept of tuna to be delicious and chock full of iron and mercury and other heavy metal things, whereas I find the concept of Jerry to be a little hammy and cheesy...but not so much with the heavy metal.

They're both sliders, if you know what I mean. And I think you know what I mean.

I've been going through & deleting spam comments pretty steadily for the last couple of months, up until this weekend. I've been removing 6-10 messages a day, every day. (And I'm sure there are others; I delete 'em as I see 'em.) You guys know how tedious this is.

I already carry MSN and Yahootie, in addition to mIRC. Frankly, another IM package I don't need, unless my buddy list suddenly gets a LOT more interesting.

It is very much the beta. The new Yahoo! IM is good, though Google's phone seems to work better.

GoogleTalk is cool! I just had a chat with Tizzie.

I was multi-tasking! I deleted the spam, and hot-chatted ColdChef, and baked a cake.

Actaully, the cake part is a lie. I drank a beer instead.

So my buddy list could get a lot more interesting.

To use a phrase I've overworked lately, the spambots went fucking apeshit tonight. Tizzie did some work, and I just spent the last two-plus hours deleting w*rez posts from here.

GTalk is actually good for a no-frills chat app, but the voice function looks promising. I even have a microphone in this laptop that I've never used.

If anyone wants to help me break it in, look me up.

I get the "access denied! surf nazis must die!" message when I tried to download it at work, so I guess that home is where the GTalk is.

I used the talk thing yesterday. It seems to work great, but this was on a T1 or something, so I think YMMV.

I can't figure out how to configure it. Also, it occurs to me that I don't even know where the microphone is on my computer or even what I'd plug into it to make it work. Math is hard!

And yes, that tuna sandwich IS looking good. I ate tuna every day for lunch until I was a teenager, though. I've probably consumed enough mercury for a lifetime.

This, of course, is the reason I am not a physicist.

I don't have a microphone either, Dana. Or I do have one, but I never installed it.

I'll put that on my project list for the year 2006. In the meantime, if anybody wanted to actually speak to me, they'd probably just call me on the phone.

If it weren't for mercury in tuna, I wouldn't have any heavy metal in my collection.
