No. Not those geezers. Remember the test results I mentioned in the previous thread? I just got back from ultrasound and I have a whopper of a kidney stone sitting just atop my ureter. Tommorow I discuss with my Dr. what my options up to and including surgery are.
Seems like we found the source of my back pain and bad moods. I thought it was too much banana tree climbing.
Yipes.
Posted by jonmc at September 27, 2005 04:46 PMZoiks. jonmc - get that stuff fixed now so you can focus your energies back to uploading audio of questionable merit. Hopefully your stones don't have the endurance of the stones pictured above.
Posted by: Slack-a-gogo on September 27, 2005 05:58 PMI'm glad you finally went back to the doc.
Hope it can be gotten out with a minimum of pain.
Good luck. And quit running marathons, willya?

good luck to you. It sounds horrific.
Posted by: kaf on September 27, 2005 09:41 PMIt ain't no fuckin' Mardi Gras, as the man says. Whenever I mentioned it to male co-workers, they winced like they had indigestion, when I called my supervisor to tell him I was gona be out tommorrow, I swear I could hear him wince over the phone.
But oddly, it's a relief knowing. The back pain and stomach cramps have been making me miserable (and irritable) for a year. I talked to the old man earlier. He was driving home up i-95 and suddenly got pain so bad, he thought he was dying. He pulled into the nearest hospital and they said it was stones. He said he got a treatment later that was so effective he was painlessly eating lunch 30 minutes later. Here's hoping.

Posted by: yhbc on September 28, 2005 12:37 AMI remember that my dad was taking us to a swim meet in Columbus - two hour drive - when my brothers were big hotshot swimmers. I was sitting in the front seat, between my mom and dad, and dad seemed a lot more quiet than usual. He looked odd - a bit grey and shaky. Then he pulled over, and he let mom drive.
Kidney stone. The only time my mom ever drove the car with dad as a passenger in their 45 year marriage.
Good luck, jonmc! I'll be thinking of you.
