My Anti told me all about the baby Gibbon at the Denver Zoo.
It's the cutest frickin' thing EVAR!!!11!
Posted by jpoulos at October 12, 2005 01:55 PMBaby Gibbon?
Two ZZ Top entries in a row is a bit excessive, don't you think? And he dosen't look a thing like his dad.
Posted by: jonmc on October 12, 2005 02:20 PMAnd the baby panda got his first teeth!
We are all over the baby animal stories here at 9622.net.
Posted by: tizzie on October 12, 2005 03:03 PMAt first I misread that as "Debbie Gibson's baby" which was a bit, well, frightening.
Posted by: Slack-a-gogo on October 12, 2005 08:53 PMWell, yeah, because it would be Mojo Nixon's two-headed love child.
Posted by: Crash on October 12, 2005 09:48 PMIf you don't got Mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixin'.
Posted by: tizzie on October 13, 2005 10:20 AMGot to hang out with Mojo back in '96.
That man found the local ABC store with amazing (and frankly a bit scary) celerity.
Posted by: Dagobert on October 13, 2005 10:34 AMHe once signed an autograph to me that said:
"RAVE ON SICK PIG!!!
Love, Mojo"
Posted by: Vidiot on October 13, 2005 11:27 AMAnd the baby panda got his first teeth!
The cub eventually will have 42 teeth, ouch!
Looking at its size 08/01 till now & walking on all fours, say more like a teething toddler today. Any pictures when it was born. iirc, really tiny tiny at birth...the size of a newborn bunny or smaller.
Apparently the baby panda's first nickname was "Butterstick", 'cause when he was born he was about the size of one.
Posted by: Vidiot on October 13, 2005 01:56 PMThe fact that we've never had shoutouts written on cleavage is either due to excess decorum or a lack of cleavage.
Posted by: tizzie on October 14, 2005 08:04 AMSomeone should do something!

Posted by: Fes on October 14, 2005 09:21 AM::stares intently at tizzie's bazooms::
Well, I don't think it's lack of cleavage...
Posted by: dana on October 14, 2005 09:44 AMEeeeeek! Oh, oh dear.
That was not what we had in mind, no.
Posted by: tizzie on October 14, 2005 11:20 AM(I'm pretty sure that's Teh Hedgehog, BTW)
Then I'm pretty sure I know where STAVROSTHEWONDERCHICKEN is written...

I actually remember "jpoulos is the only poster in the world whose double". It's part of one of the most generous ass-kissings ever dispensed by one Miguel Cardoso.
I believe the original is something like "jpoulos is the only poster in the world whose double-posts are better than the original!"
Come back, Miggy. Come back.

Posted by: kaf on October 14, 2005 01:48 PMAhhh, the brick.
Last I heard, the brick was scheduled to be placed "in the spring". This was some number of years ago. So either it's a scam, or there's a brick with our name on it.
*does research*
Heh. This person found their brick, so it's apparently legit.
Mapquest says Mendon, MA is a 45-minute drive from me. I'll tell you what: I can't go this weekend, but I'll try to make the trip next weekend.

Posted by: jpoulos on October 14, 2005 02:18 PMSorry Fes, in Toronto right now. Cleavage shoutouts will have to wait until I get back to la Citta Eterna. Mwah.
Posted by: romakimmy on October 14, 2005 02:49 PMI'll be danged. I have on my refrigerator, right now, two free passes to the Southwick Zoo (good through 2005) which I received for donating blood a couple weeks ago. John, I'll try to get out there myself, if you can't make it.
I also owe you an email, but I've been putting off finishing it. It sits in my "drafts" folder, mocking me.

Weather, what is this "weather" of which you speak, dude?

Downsides of the Typical East-Coast Weather Pattern:
1) At some points during the year, some form of precipitation will come from the sky for 6, 7 maybe 8 or 9 days in a row. If you're lucky, it's only rain, and it's not horizontal.
Upsides of the Typical East-Coast Weather Pattern:
1) The leaves turn pretty colors in the Fall.
2) We don't have a "wildfire season".
Two to one, dude. You lose.
Posted by: yhbc on October 14, 2005 09:47 PMI don't think it wildfires where I live now *knock on wood*.
It's so foggy and wet all the time, I don't think it could.
But I agree it is better to actually have seasons...it's just that I'm not familiar with them myself.
Posted by: kaf on October 14, 2005 10:59 PMin Toronto right now.

Also, Mojo Nixon, circa Frenzy and Bodacious, was a goddamn wonderhchicken hero. One of 'em, anyway. Saw his shows in 4 count 'em 4 different countries.
He got kinda sucky later, though.
Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on October 21, 2005 04:03 AMA Photograph-the-Brick Update:
I had planned to make the trip on Sunday (the last day of the season for the zoo). Unless I can get out there tomorrow AM (unlikely), things aren't looking so good.

Oh, all right. I'm less than 12 miles away. I'll go tomorrow morning before it starts raining. I have to take a load of brush to the dump anyway.

We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
