In an effort to deal with the SPAM problem, I'm considering upgrading the site to Moveable Type v3, which I'm told is much better at handling such things. I would try to make the move this weekend. Does anyone who has experience with v3 have any advice? Does anyone think it's a bad idea?
Also, please use this thread to air any grievances you may have against ColdChef.

Posted by: jpoulos on November 4, 2005 12:50 PMCouldn't we eliminate spam by converting the whole site to index cards and a black binder clip (a Hipster 9622?) and just mail it to everyone involved?

Posted by: Slack-a-gogo on November 5, 2005 08:57 AMThe latest one broke my MT install. I had to go back to 3.whatevertheonebeforethatwas. No problems with the first couple of 3.x revs, though.
Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on November 6, 2005 05:01 AMhaven't had any issues with any of the new versions here at work. should be pretty painless.
Posted by: tj on November 8, 2005 12:41 PMI didn't get around to it over the weekend, but I'll do it this week. I know there's nothing to it, but considering the size of this site, I don't want to fuck anything up, so I need to set aside some time.
Also, ColdChef serves red wine with fish.
Posted by: jpoulos on November 8, 2005 01:58 PMA note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
