Even in a hospital bed, I'm thinking of the monkeys Special thanks to lilboo for her photgraphic freindship.
Posted by jonmc at November 05, 2005 07:06 PMSomeone should post Jon's hospital number here so we can crank call him at all hours.
Posted by: ColdChef on November 5, 2005 07:51 PMNo such luck, chefstah. I'm at home now, with pressure dressing the size of a diaper taped to my back. Pips is out getting narcotics and provisions.

Posted by: ColdChef on November 5, 2005 08:16 PMGlad you made it through and home, Jon - best wishes for a quick recovery.
Damn, that was lame. Not befitting at all of our reputation, as limited as it may be, of a "wacky, yet vaguely intellectual, in an ordinary-type-person kind of way" website.
Fine. Here's a picture of a crocheted Cheez-It, then.
Woo-HOO! Wacky, yes, but is there a deeper (or ironic?) meaning?!?!?
Posted by: yhbc on November 5, 2005 11:47 PMI'm home now, stav. I had kidney stones removed. I have a pressure compress the size of a diaper on my back and I'm peeing cherry kool-aid, but at least they're out and I'm riding a marvelous vicodin buzz.
Posted by: jonmc on November 6, 2005 10:48 AMWho's hungry for grape-nuts?
I recommend taking advatnage of your condition to lay in bed shouting orders to your attendants, and weeping copiously when your authority is challenged.
It's a living.
Posted by: kaf on November 6, 2005 12:32 PMSo we're not getting that phone number so we can all make the crank calls? Fine. Whatever.
Feel better soon, Jon.
Posted by: aine42 on November 6, 2005 04:22 PMI wonder if there's ever a been a "severed hand" style horror movie, but about kidney stones.
Softly scraping, the stone made its lugubrious way along the streets of New York...calling Jonnnn. Jonnnn! JONNNN!
Posted by: kaf on November 6, 2005 08:15 PMThere have been a few kidney stones buddy films and at least one incredible journey flick with a kidney stone (traveling with a lovable wolf hound if memory serves me correct), but I can't think of a single kindney stone horror film. It seems like a genre ripe for exploiting.
Heal quickly jonmc, YouSendIt has been asking about you.
Posted by: Slack-a-gogo on November 6, 2005 11:38 PMI believe I saw a remake of The Thing with a kidney stone in it, in which they cover the seemingly hibernative stone in cranberry juice, it naturally derives nutrients from this delicious treat and reanimates, then goes about wreaking just, urea-bathed revenge on the hapless scientists for their perfidy and foolishness. I think Linnea Quigley co-starred.
Posted by: Fes on November 7, 2005 09:14 AMGet well soon, Jon!
also: did you get the stone to keep? Polished and on a chain it could, like those unicorn horn things the sons of Italia favor, serve as both an attractive adornment and a fascinating conversation starter...?
Posted by: Fes on November 7, 2005 09:16 AMThe kidney stone saga is finally over? Glad to hear it.
Posted by: jpoulos on November 7, 2005 09:42 AMalso: did you get the stone to keep?
Sadly, no. The procedure uses a probe on a wire to pulverine the stones then vacuum them out, Pips said that when the doctor came to get her in the witing room post-op, he sowed her a test tube filled with a disturbing amount of gravel that he shook like a maraca. (no kidding).
I am feeling much better. Of course that may be the vicodin talking.
Posted by: jonmc on November 7, 2005 09:43 AMFeel free to call and drop by, dude. Visits are appreciated.
Posted by: jonmc on November 8, 2005 03:47 PMGlad to hear you're getting better, matey. The hard livin' catches up on us...
Posted by: stavrosthewonderchicken on November 8, 2005 08:55 PMA note about posting images:
We encourage users to post images, especially those hilarous pics of monkeys
wearing dresses or programming for Linux. But posting images that reside on someone
else's server is considered by many to be bandwidth theft. Our thoughts
on the matter, along with some solutions to the problem, can be found
here. Thanks.
