February 04, 2006 : What Day Is It?

One for the thumb, ummm?
Though the weather forecast for Detroit just made me laugh, the Super Bowl doesn't thrill me.
I've got a good idea for an alternative to watch. Bravo knows who won't be watching the XL - they've got 2 hours of Liza! What are the rest of you monkeys up to?

People have said these things about that :

List of alternatives.

I wish someone would volunteer to call me at half-time so I can catch Mick and the lads.

I will be at a wake tomorrow night. The funeral arrangements were made by the deceased's widow and daughters. I assume that if the man had had any sons, I'd be able to watch the Superbowl.

I predict a low male turnout for the services.

Perhaps a wide-screen TV over the casket? Or just one of those little bitty ones tucked in the casket, near the deceased's elbow maybe, to lighten up the mood. And some hot wings for a snack.

The Meerkat and the Monkey do not have cable. They do not want to have cable.

The Meerkat and the Monkey will not be watching the Super Bowl.

Tomorrow night, the Meerkat and the Monkey will be mixing a cocktail and having a smoke instead.

Just like tonight. :D

going to a friend's house, drinking, playing video games. we may watch the game after that.

I only watch for the commercials.

How pathetic is that?

I am pleased to announce that one of the "bereaved" brought a television and the family is watching the game during the wake.

The puppies were way cute.

While the Meerkat and the Monkey were out buying groceries, one of the checkout-clerks came from the break room to inform us that Mick was poncing around in a demi-shirt.

MJ dressed like that circa "Tattoo You", excellent!

MJ dressed like that circa "2006 Superbowl", no. Just... no.

Not being "ageist". Someone like MJ can rock out like a monster and be 60-something. He's Mick fucking Jagger, fer chrissakes.

But don't do it and try to dress like you're 20-something while doing it. It just draws jokes like a lit joint draws a crowd at a party.

No, the Meerkat and the Monkey have finished the "Sidecar" part of the evening and, due to the lack of brandy, are moving onto the "Red Garter" part of the evening. Gin, POM Wonderful pomegranate juice, lemon, simple syrup, honey.

Let us know how the game ends. Or not. Actually, what you're drinking tonight would be more interesting.

I may mix something else. Don't have any simple syrup made up and I may be a lazy monkey tonight.

But then, 2 cocktails worked as far as "taking advantage of the Meerkat" last night. We'll see how tonight goes. Was a bad monkey earlier.

Okay, we ended up going with an XYZ:, 1.5oz Voodo Spiced Rum, .75oz Cointreau, .75oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, shake with ice.

OMFG, the bottle of Voodoo was noo too yoo know hoo, and I think this monkey's "Spiced Rum Trinity" is complete (in no particular order): Capt. Morgans, Sailor Jerry's and Voodoo. FUCK, that's a sweet, smooth rum.

Smoothe as oral sex on shaved genitals. May have to mix another.

Who won? And who were they playing against?

The Super Boal, I mean. There might be other sporting events being contested this night that I'm not aware of.

DInners ready. ANd this monkey may qualify as slightly inebriated in some jurisdictionsd.

Drubk!

Brooklyn Brewery Chocolate Stout tonight, though I may have an Old Fashioned before I hit the hay. Those blood oranges aren't going to eat themselves, after all, and they're best after being soaked in Maker's Mark for a while.

Why not join in and say something too?
